Also in southwest Ohio. My tts cab is on the Orion Leader and should be at port in RI this Sunday if all goes as planned. Maybe the end of this week or next car will be home. Can't wait.

IANAL, but: You signed something into which was written the deposit amount. If the dealer is asking for more deposit and not VAT then you can tell them to pound sand and deliver the car in accordance with their obligations as detailed in what you signed.

This, of course, under the assumption that you read what you signed and it doesn't contain clauses that allow them to change the terms at will (which I doubt it does.)

Get a detailed, thorough explanation of what, who, and why.

VAT is due up front. I was shocked by this during my last Euro Delivery: had to put down $33k! Thankfully it gets refunded once the car arrives, but it's still a large chunk of cash to put down that goes towards nothing. Others here in past mentioned they only had to put down $10k, so must be some flexibility.

ED is amazing however, worth it despite the big cash outlay.

If it's not VAT then something is going on....I have a June delivery (not ED) of a 2017 TTS and all that was required to place the order was $1500 down....

Default Advice please

I'm starting to feel angry. I received this email today. Please advise before I respond with an emotional response. What is going on here, this was not discussed with me at all.

I've removed all names.

Mr. ,

It's an additional $25,000 to the first $15,000, this is required for European delivery.

Best,

, apologies, for not getting back to you yesterday, I did receive your voicemails. Please clarify, are you asking me for an additional deposit of $25k for European Delivery that is above my $15k deposit and on top of VAT? yes, please send the ED paperwork by email, I can turn it relatively quickly.

Thanks,

Nick

40k up front. Seems crazy to me. You really gotta want this ED.

Good luck

Exactly, it seems this dealer really wants me not to do ED by piling on surprise fees that they tell me "they" (Porsche AG) have asked for unwxpectedly.

What's more, I'm told by multiple sources that dealers sometimes try to pull this on unwitting customers in order to avoid paying the ED dealer fee themselves. Whether or not this is true I would like to find out. I would, however, like to avoid conflict because I plan a long relationship with Porsche haha, but I don't like being taken advantage of. Unfortunately I'm in a weak position of inexperience and ignorance here..

I understand. Very frustrating when you don't feel your being dealt with fairly. I wish I could help answer some questions for you, but this is my first porsche. It just arrived at the port RI so ED is out of the question at this time.

Good luck.

I would be angry too!!! Seems a number like $40K should have been disclosed way upfront...I would check with other dealers to see what their down payment requirements are for ED

Thanks. Came from amg world, but with all the 43 models coming out just decided to move on and try something new. Was thinking about the ED, but circumstances didn't allow.

Don't think I would have the same issues as you are dealing with. I have a long history with the same owner of the porsche and mb dealer.

Never again from this dealer.. I am obv. excited for the car, but the dealer experience has gone from mediocre to bad to worse. I didn't even haggle, I just accepted the MSRP. Thought that would afford fairness and respect. This should have been an enjoyable, fun experience.

Not good. I got a very good deal off of Msrp and several other things thrown in and have been treated outstanding. Have nothing bad to say about my dealer/salesman.
