Shark Werks Exhaust installation (with some DIY tips) on new Turbo S
Been seeing more of these Turbos locally here in California finally and ourSharkWerks exhaust . Figure/plan on about 3 hours or so if you are doing an exhaust change....
Stealthy as she goes:
Let's start by taking the wing blade and covers off:
Next up the fans/cover:
Now you've got a few more things to remove before you can access the bumper:
Off with the lights and decklid shroud:
No you can access the bumper screws:
And the bottom screws too:
And off comes the bumper:
The 5mph bumper and heat shields are now easy to remove:
Now fully-undressed you can tackle the factory exhaust:
Although you can use after-market tips on the 991 Turbo / S most folks like the factory dual tip design (vs the singe oval previously on Turbos) and opt to re-use them again on our exhaust:
Off with the factory clamp/straps on either side.
Once you'e got those loose we like to loosen the passenger side exhaust stud nuts (four) on the catalyst to allow you to then slide out the factory muffler:
The SharkWerks exhaust:
Since we're keeping things smog/emissions legal (and no CELs) here we then slip-fit the SharkWerks exhaust back over the catalysts with factory clamps:
Once our plate mechanism is secured from behind it's time to button her back up:
Stock tips added back on:
Now with a little more bark/bite ready to go home:
A a couple of short clips:
And with load under boost
