Default 5 Point Harness

I'm writing to see if anyone has had a 5 point harness installed in their 991 Turbo without too much hassle or customization? I've tracked my 2014 Turbo S several times now and am carrying more speed that I probably should without some safety equiptment. A couple of weekends ago I kept having to tighten my seatbelt. IF so please share your experience and knowledge.

Can't do 5 or 6 pt. harness without race seats and a semi roll bar or Brey Kraus harness bar. But it can be done.

Have you tried locking the shoulder strap with the seatback set back, and then powering the seatback forward forcing the shoulder strap to lock with more force? This will lock the seatbelt quite tight!

Thanks. I'll reach out to the Brey-Krause guys. I'll also try the seat belt tightening trick. I did realize, a little late, that I did not fully pinch my seat to help.

I'm in the same boat. I tracked my 991 TTS about 20 days this year, and I agree we are going way too fast to rely on the OEM belt. Short term solution was the CGLock (on Amazon for $60 each). It attaches to the OEM belt lock and you pull it tight and the lap portion stays tight!! I never had to tighten my belt mid-lap again after I installed it, and it was just a HUGE difference in feeling comfortable at speed. Probably cut a couple of seconds off my lap times, and made it a lot more enjoyable at the same time.

This winter I am going to yank out the standard seats and install a pair of Cobra Misano 30th Anniversary seats with optional sub strap pass through, and a Cantrell Motorsports half cage and Schroth belts. The Cobra seats can be custom ordered without the tacky logo, and they are sport seats so I can still have a comfortable driving position on both road and track. They are also the nicest looking seats I've seen. Total budget, $9000 for custom seats, half cage, and belts.

Note: They do offer this seat with the sub-strap pass through, and you can customize the fabrics (Alcantera or leather) and add custom graphics or just remove their logo.

It's a very slippery slope, use caution! LOL

I fell down that slope on my GT3. Took a perfectly good, semi-streetable (all stock GT3's are semi-streetable) GT3 and MANY $$$ later, turned it into a DE track monster.... But removed all the fun from driving it on the street, which is one of the reasons I'm now in a stock TT and loving it!!

Tell me more about what you did that made it no fun on the street, please. I'm staring at the top of that slope now!!!

(BTW - I notice the Radical, so...you have the best of both worlds now)

OK - you fell off the slope and tumbled violently all the way to the bottom

Ya did I ever!.. and while the journey was a lot of fun at the time, it's something I'd never repeat or recommend!
