991 or 991.2 quandary

There is no difference in 2015 or 2016 tts except you could get a great deal on a 2015. Drive it for 2 years and then decide if you want 991.2 since it would be out for 1 year and some key bugs of .2 would be fixed. This way you will save on getting a tts and drive what is current and be able to weigh your options in 2017.

No matter what you do, there will always be something "bigger and better" coming in the future. I have a friend here in town who literally has been saying he's going to buy a Porsche for three years. Every time he goes to pull the trigger, he convinces himself he should wait a bit longer for what is coming next. Meanwhile, three years of his life have passed with a lot of dreaming but no driving. I considered waiting for the 991.2 myself but decided to ****** a 2015 TTS and just get to enjoying.

ok, my 2016 tts cab is locked in. Delivery early Nov.
Biggest concern was that the 991.2 might have a significant hp bump.
So... dealer and I agreed on following. Order is fixed now (well before the Sept. Frankfort show).
IF... the proposed 2017 991.2 TTS has a hp bump of 40 or more, I can cancel my existing contract, no penalty, and roll over deposit to purchase of the 2017 model.
Addresses my concerns.
Can't wait for whichever version I'm getting.

Has it been confirmed the .2 TT and TTS will be released same time as the base 911's? As everyone should know for the 991 platform the turbos didn't arrive until 2014 model year, 2 years after the non turbo 911's.

I think it's always a guess to the exact month and day but if history continues repeating itself the gen 2 tt car could be seen in the traffic anytime after mid 2016. I agree most deliveries occur from the beginning of the following year 2017 onward but you will see demos, press cars and a few pre orders appear prior to end of 2016.

Either gen you wind up with will be a pleasure to own though. Unlike 997tt.1, 991tt.1 was put to the market as an extremely well rounded and well sorted package with little to nothing to fix. That said I'm sure when gen 2 surfaces 991tt.1 will be considered as having flaws in comparison. The improvements always speak a different language to past praises given to the earlier version. Has it ever been different?
My main concern would be how close will the base gen 2's performance be to the current TTS, or will it exceed it even. I suspect the later is highly possible..
