Default Launch Control is Back!!

Yesterday, we had a gorgeous day with temps in the 70's. Tried launch control to entertain the kids, and it is back. Need those Pirellis to be nice and hot for the launch not to affected by spinning tires. What a welcome sign of spring.

It would be nice to have something in Atlanta besides rain for the last 9 days so I could stretch the TTS's legs a bit.

I just passed 2,000 miles this morning and am in the process of changing the oil over to RedLine Synthetic so I can go romp on her. To be honest, I'm a bit scared to do an LC launch with the GIAC Stage II and full length exhaust. It would just break my heart if something went sproing... Maybe I'll just live vicariously through you guys.

I thought that Champion Porsche dealers honored the factory warranty if they installed the GIAC programs. Car is a rocket stock so with the GIAC tune it must be outrageous from a roll if there are concerns about using LC with GIAC.

On the 991's with Sport Chrono is there something that shows you the 0-60 time? I saw a Youtube video of a 997 doing LC and he had it on a read out below the tach.

Not to my knowledge. Would be great if we did have a timer like that.

My kids love it. They ask for it - "again, Daddy! It feels like an amusement park ride" How can I say "no" to that??

I purchased from a Champion dealership but I didn't have them do the work. They wanted a hefty ransom for labor and I consider myself a competent mechanic (FAA licensed A&P) so I did it on my own. I gave it full throttle in Sport + from a first gear roll up to about 100 mph and that was quite plenty for me!

Let's just say that I understand why PDK is the only transmission option. There's no way I would have made the 1-2 shift in time and maybe not even the 2-3 shift. It presses the air right out of your lungs! I may do a launch or two for a friend sometime but the car is already stupidly fast. I think that 60-130 is way more fun! BTW, for anyone considering the Kline innovation exhaust, I have their stainless system with 100 cpsi cats and it is pure music. Beautiful construction as well. I can't wait to post videos!

I am in the process of putting the Kline system with cat100's and IPD intake with the Cobb Tuning Kit on my Turbo S. Can't wait!!! These cars are already wickedly fast, but this should be fun!!!

I'm at a bit over 6,000 miles and still haven't used launch control yet. I might not get a chance now until spring.
