Thumbs down split the *%!*ing front splitter!

Has anyone had this happen?

It's only held with a bead of adhesive...

Yes I did scuff it, but I don't feel it should separate so easily...

That sucks! Sorry...

What are the holes in the padding? Besides adhesive, are there any plastic clips that hold it together?

Ouch! let us know how the repair goes. I am so afraid I will forget to pull up the spoiler when I hit my driveway (steep) and I just know I am gonna hit it hard one day.

Plastic clips... That's what I thought when I first saw it, but on close inspection that tan material is the adhesive not padding and the holes I think were left from the applicator.

I haven't had that happen to me yet. I scrape the spitter on the end of my driveway when I forget to put it in the up position. I guess I should do a better job of retracting it. Keep us posted on what the fix is. Hopefully it's an easy and inexpensive one!

No worries, will definitely DIY.... if I have to.

Just want to pass it by my dealer first before I close that door forever!

Sent my dealer the pictures above and now it's on their hoist as they attempt to re-glue where the factory adhesive let go.
No questions, no delay, no push back.

Just now spoke to service. It's repaired but they want the adhesive to cure overnight... guess I'm driving this new Cayenne loaner for another day!

On side note the 2014 Cayenne is not a bad car! Had a new one as a loaner in 2006 and was less than impressed. Not so with the new one!

If it makes you feel any better..

Had a fairly large stone hit my windscreen a few days ago, 3-5mm from the roof so the result could have been worse although the crack is now pretty long! Waited in most of today for the fitter. Fitter arrived.... wrong ****ing screen. There don't seem to be any in the UK.. My car has some unexpected sensor of some sort on the mirror backing plinth.. Now due to be started again, presumably after it arrives from Germany, on Thursday next week.

Bummer on the windscreen DragonRR!

Well the adhesive my dealer tried doesn't work.. To much pressure is applied when the splitter gets deployed.

They have it temp attached with bubble gum and bailing wire while a new replacement comes from Germany.

And yes like 08viper1 said.... the replacement cost is north of $5,000. so be VERY careful with your splitters guys/gals!

That seems a bit expensive. My front splitter was replaced in its entirety due to the bulge problem a week or two back. A cost of £800 was mentioned for the materials and 3-4hrs of labour. The labour time was roughly correct given the time they had the car in for repair. The material cost may have been wrong of course and it may have been a dealer price rather than retail.

Dealer stated mine needs to be replaced in it's entirety also and quoted $4500. for parts plus labour at $119/hr plus 13% tax on both... = well north of $5000 CDN

I do agree, yes it seems a bit expensive....
