@1Gunner

I was at my local Porsche Center in Sheffield UK today and noticed they had my front splitter still hanging up on a wall in the workshop. I asked about the cost of the materials. The chief mechanic there said it was about £850 (I assume plus taxes). He said that the cost of the housing itself (if damaged) plus the splitter was around £1200. Labour was 3hrs. The price you've been quoted/paying seems pretty extortionate to me unless they are fitting a new air compressor unit as well.

That's good info to have DragonRR, we'll see what happens, parts should be in this week.

Update: Car is at the Porsche shop today and will receive a complete front spoiler replacement with all parts covered, I pay labour ...which is very fair in this case.

That's a good level of service from them/Porsche really. It is quite worrying that the spoiler can separate that easily. I suspect they want to keep your custom

Great service!!!
I agree on it's delicacy, the spoiler is literally held together with a bead of adhesive and screw nails.

Mine will remain in automatic mode, no more manual deploy....

I never would have thought that the spoiler would be held together by a bead of adhesive and screw nails. How susceptible is it to damage when not deployed?

Again, I agree... who'd have thought, but the holes seen here are the from the retaining screws. They retain the spacing all the way across the front with screws that help support the bead of adhesive, also seen in white.

When not deployed everything is tucked up and hidden behind the face of the splitter.

Dumb question: if we let the computer deploy the aero as needed rather than manually leaving it deployed full time, and then we scrape while the spoiler is retracted, will it be damaged?
