I have driven the GTR on both the road and the track .....Yes it is a very capable car and does every thing I would expect from a high performance drive .........How ever for me it lacks Character and a sense of excitement ,,,it just feels like any other Japanese performance car to me . I owe a 996 GT3 and find it far more of a pleasure to drive even though the GTR can out perform the 996 ...............the GT3 has sole ,,,were as the GTR seems to lack that charm .................
Just thought it was interesting to hear how no one could replicate the sub 2.89 sec times claimed by Nissan. Maybe it pulled that number once on a steep downhill with a gale force tailwind in freezing conditions? In fact the GTR got slower the more pulls it did vs the TTS which pulled consistent times. Bottom line is Nissan really ought to give it up on the bull**** marketing numbers which they bang on about all the time trying to make it out its quicker than anything else more expensive. Ridiculous!
I do feel the GTR is a good car and one of the best value for money sports cars out there,,,but you are right about Nissan all ways going on about the numbers and making comparisons with other manufactures ...
In Oz a New GTR is around $180K ,for that money you can pick up a nice used 997 TT or GT3 , I know witch car I would rather ...............
FYI,while drag racing the TS,you have to turn off traction control(It pulls power) and the TS will pick up 2 to 3 10s in the quarter mile...I do 10.70/8s all the time at 129...Little trick....
