On my 996 Turbo, i definitely appreciated adding more power, so I get it. The 2001 is at about 530 HP and ~550 HP if I put on a custom tune (stock, K15's, exhaust, tune). Far more power easily added with hybrid turbos and minor fueling mods.
On the 991.1 Turbo S, horsepower bumps aren't even on my radar at this point... The car is so quick out of the box. Sharpening the handling, dialing out a bit of the understeer, and improving the sound were top priorities based on my perception of the cars strengths and weaknesses.
I don't think there is any difference at all in the suspension or setup .1 or .2 (someone chime in if this is not accurate), and both the .1 and .2 S versions already have all the handling "goodies" like RWS, PDCC, PTV+, etc.
Just as an FYI, DSC sport controller helped quite a bit on the suspension side, but a tire size change (to 265/325), swapping to Cup 2's, and an aggressive alignment with as much camber as I can get are all on deck. Cat bypass fixed the sound issue nicely as well...
Paul, I'm interested in your tires / suspension / alignment changes and how they turn out for aggressive mountain / canyon driving.
I'd also love to see you go PS4S first and then Cup 2's to tell us the difference there too.
I'm looking for a Porsche (not GT car) that'll be a little easier to stay with my buddy in the hills with his 2016 ZO6...that car just handles SO freaking well.. He's hard to stay with.
I just figured the .2 TTS would be almost as fast as my stage 2.5 tune / Europipe combo and I'd not even have to worry about tuning it until after a CPO was up (even if after that).
The 991.2TTS is just a bucket list car... Along with many..lol. I just checked another box on that list recently, but it isn't in the same class, but awesome in a different way.

You cannot keep up with a Z06 with your current turbo? I thought that thing was a ground based rocket ship?

Straight line was Easy!! Until he went and spent $30K with Vengeance Racing on a Magnuson SC with all the extras and now he dyno's 879 RWHP
I'm talking about in the corners on the street in the mountains... The Tires size alone on a ZO6 has a far bigger contact patch than the little 235 / 305's on the 997.2 TTS.
Of course I never tried Cup 2's and / or a more aggressive Alignment on my car.
With complete concentration and taking a few chances (without my GF's daughter in the car - just us two) I can stay with him, but it's difficult.
The 991.1 and .2 TTS is just a better handling car. Still can't compete with published "Ring" and "lightning lap" track times of a ZO6 though.

That's a lot of ponies. Perhaps the compromise would be a crazy suspension? If I am not mistaken, you have the weight advantage too.

Well...... I guess this is as good a time as any to let the cat out of the bag.
I no longer own my 997.2 TTS.
Acquired another "Bucket List" car in it's place, but for how long, I'm not sure yet... If I can keep it and buy another TTS I will... Otherwise, I'm going to have fun with it for a while and then it'll go on BAT. Then I'll be on the hunt for a 991.2 TTS.
See this thread and post #10 and the pics below for the new Whip.....
Anyway... Completely restored / Restomodded 1985 Ferrari 308 GTS QV with a built Ferrari engine (Stock block with 360 Crank - making it a 3.4L) with custom cams and a Haltech EFI , making 351 WHP.
I'll put some pics on my old thread soon...or start a new thread...
Yeah, it just said I was a bum and had no authority to access the page...
That's a cool toy - 'Built Ferrari Engine' sounds spendy - in fact, I was not even aware you could do that with any Ferrari without at least owning one bank to start with.
A friend had one, blue/tan, some years ago - I always was taken by the shape, it is very elegant; 400-ish hp must make it fun.

Hmm..It's a RL thread, so no clue why it won't link you over to it. Search "Ferrari 308 in WNY"
Yes, a lot of fun, but different fun than my TTS. Just always loved the 308 look and always wanted one since a kid.
No worries - yeah, it'd be cool to see - must sound nice...
I'll have to post later. Just got called in to help with Hostage Negotiations for a person that fired shots at officers and barricaded himself in a hose...
