Default Unbreakable PDK???

Here is a very recent article from R&T about the Turbo S and Launch Control and the reliability of the car being used hard. What do you think?

Be safe and enjoy.

P.S. - This is an x post in the 991 section as well...

Incredible engineering. I'm almost out of the break-in period so can't wait to try launch control. Not 61 times in a row though like R&T LOL !

Nearly 1500 miles in and I am still very impressed with this car. It is amazing!

Thanks, that was a fun read. Love the way the driver could not stop smiling at the car's performance and reliability.

I don't feel so bad now ... No launches yet but I just read the part about 4200 rpm in the manual ... I know I've broken that ...

Funny, maybe I can chase down that car and see if I can get it at a discounted price since it was "abused". Reminds me of the yellow Z06 (on youtube) that the guy thinks he's cool and tried this. Lost his clutch immediately. Love that blue

Nice avatar, IPSC and IDPA type barricaded/hostage scenarios are a hoot to solve(;->)

I would guess this is a sacrificial car for Porsche. They had to have a high order of confidence in the car not embarrassing them to allow the tests to go forward. Surely they have done MUCH worse to PDK's in development. Heat is the big killer of friction materials and the PDK cooling system for the oil bathed clutches (and the oil itself) and must be something to be hold from a thermodynamic standpoint.

Anyone know if there is a specified transmission filter and a replacement cycle of such filter if it exists in the PDK?

Doing that many max performance takeoffs would have been thrilling and to some extent I would expect one would become somewhat acclimated to the spectacular levels of thrust available, akin to developing a tolerance to G loads in aerobatic aircraft. Sign me up for that task, please!

Be safe

Yea, we were doing hostage rescue training. Started at the 7 yard line and finished at the 25. Didn't want to hit the hostage so my shots started to veer to the right. I was happy with it for a HK USP 45 ACP
Take care
