AAHTT, I have been buying for years and still don't understand the allocation strategy. I suppose the more productive dealers get the earliest cars, but not sure about that. Anyway, i'm holding a firm build and delivery date in the Porsche manufacturing system, not just a promise from the dealer.

thank you, very interesting. this is not my first turbo order and my dealer is one of the larger ones in CA.
when is your delivery date?

Also, you can count on Porsche to create a Gen.2 Turbo 'S', maybe a Gen. 3 Turbo 'S', again diluting exclusivity that prior 993/996/997 Turbo 'S' versions enjoyed. If anything, I'd expect prices on the 991 Turbo S to plummet even faster than they did on 997 Turbo S models. A good strategy might be to wait a bit and pick up a ($182K + 20K optioned = $200K)991 Turbo S for $150K a year down the road.
Sadly, I have to agree that the first year loss of resale value of any Turbo is likely to follow the huge 25% first year loss of most sportscar models, be they Porsches, Ferraris, McClarens, Corvettes or GT-Rs. Only the limited production of the Porsche GT models have been successful in reducing that huge first year hit.

I presently drive a 991 C2S and Panamera S and have ordered a GT3 but not placed an order yet for a Turbo believing they will be made in sufficient volume
to fill any and all orders. Having recently sold my 996 X50 Turbo and being without one for the first time since 1979, I find that I miss that adrenaline rush of incredible acceleration that only the Turbo provides. Re the Turbo vs Turbo S choice, the performance of both models are so outstanding that I doubt any buyer will feel the 5% power differential between them since neither can be
"let loose" for more than a few seconds in daily driving traffic without seriously risking jail time and extended loss of driver's license. Even the differential in track performance between the TT and TTS is likely to be fractions of a second, on most U.S. tracks, a gap that can easily be closed by additional practice.
I have no doubt that the 991 Turbo will continue to be the ultimate and unique combination of extended travel comfort, versatility and incredible performance.

I agree, there is nothing like the acceleration in the turbo ... I had a 991 C2S and went back to a 997 Turbo S for a while for that reason.

I called my dealer this morning and had him change my order to deliver to the port of houston. I'll pickup a turbo cab allocation for April/May 2014 for delivery in Zuffenhausen. Thanks for the guidance on taking this car into the med region.

I have a 991S now and I sold my 997.1 turbo after I had the 991 for awhile. The 991S does not quite have the hit the turbo does but I like it better.

It is always smarter to wait and buy a two year old used car. I do that alot but not this time. :-)

On allocations, my dealer told me they have one for a Turbo S but have not received one for a Turbo yet. Does anyone know that othere dealers have Turbo allocations? I wonder if they are delivering the Turbo S before the Turbo.

That's funny, I had both a 997.2 TTS and a 991 C2S and sold the C2S after a few months. C2S felt like a luxury car to me. Other than the interior, I preferred everything about the TTS.

I knew I was going to do a 991TT. The 991S was an experiment.

Red Route 1

I'm in The Woodlands myself living on the waterway until my NOLA home sells. I've been to the factory etc/( my mother is a Londoner by birth and a wonderful travel agent. ) The lunch I had at the factory restaurant was one of the best meals I had in nearly 2 months in Europe. My family owns a place in Verbier-CH (Aspen on steroids- ) 300km from stuttgart. http://rentalp.ch/EN/agency/besson-i...ia-223224.aspx

Absolutely gorgeous area during the summer.

McGehee Travel- 985-626-5454 her name is Christine. You can't buy your airfare cheaper anywhere- though that is not her specialty anymore--- she can plan a great trip to your taste and budget. Not only is it my mom and of course all moms are awesome. She does great work.

Hi,

Does anyone know of, or have available, a set of used or new black 19" 5 lug GT3 RS (2008 year) wheels? I would consider other colours.

Thanks in advance!

991 Turbo production starts aprox. 6-8 weeks after 991 Turbo S production. Just as a hint.
So the 991 Turbo S will be available first.
