Default TPMS sensor life

How long do TPMS sensors generally last in the 991.1 cars? Mine are 10+ years old and I’ve never changed them. They definitely last longer than the sensors in my 997.1.

I took the 911 out for a drive last night and it gave me a message that my front left tire was low. I manually checked all four tires and topped them off where necessary, but none of them were more than 1 lb. low.

While driving, I received an intermittent message that my front left tire was at 0 PSI. The tire display in the instrument cluster showed 30 PSI, even though the warning showed 0 PSI. Upon visual inspection, the tire was fine. I’m guessing that the sensor battery is on the way out.

Conflicting data sounds ominous.

My sensors (2010 C4S built Sept 2009) are over 16 years old and still working fine. YMMV, of course.

I suppose it could be something else. I haven’t experienced this before.

Typical life quoted is 6-10 years depending upon how much you drive. Motion activates them which uses power. The less you drive, the longer they last. I think the TPMS scanners the larger tire shops use can read battery life.

I've got 171K miles on mine with no idea why the batteries have not only surpassed use expectations but also shelf life. Porsche changed technologies between the 997.1 and 997.2 cars. But as I said, YMMV, and most likely will!!!

I've got a pretty advanced reader but haven't looked to see if it includes battery health. Hmmmm.

My car has about 40K miles on the odometer.

I have an iCarSoft 3.0 unit. I think it might have access to some TPMS data, but I’m not sure if battery SOC is available. I’ll hook it up later and take a look.

I just read the battery life on my reader. All four read 0 months. That doesn't surprise me after more than 16 years. But all four continue to indicate pressures on the dash accurately.

I just replaced all four of mine after 10 years. They were giving erratic reading then quit completely.

iCarSoft 3.0 didn’t help.
