I just replaced the whole unit on the car I rebuilt.

Where would you even source just the raw cover?

I'm also too paranoid that it would either never deploy correctly or explode in my face/hand at some point haha.

Change of steering wheel from 991.1 Sport Design to 991.2 Multifunction. Unfortunately, airbags/cover don't interchange.

Yeah I thought you needed a whole new airbag not just the cover -- did you find a cheap one that wasn't the right color/material? I guess that would make sense.

Don't know about "cheap," but less expensive. Black and needed Espresso.
