Normal mode...scary
PDK tune - yes. I primarily use normal now in auto mode after my PDK tune. And sport is closer to sport plus. But I still use manual more than auto.

Is your PDK Tune the one Cobb sells or did Sam do it as part of the package?
I'm sure it would. Driving mine 'stock' in Sport+ on track in manual mode, since I have all my shift points memorized, the engine stays where you want it to be in the power band, and the power delivery is instantaneous. Certainly can't tell you're driving a 'quad' Turbo car!
True, but you can do the same thing NORMAL mode with your foot and driving in manual mode, which allows to you keep it in whatever rev range you want. If you want it to be done for you (PDK automatic) in all modes, yes you can do it with a tune.
I actually use the car for highway road trips and as more than just a play thing, so I like to be able to have OEM max fuel range when I'm not playing.

Yes, exactly. I keep the rpms below 2500 until water temp is up to normal, then below 3500 until oil is up to temp. Once water temp is normal, keep the rpms between 2500-3500, you're never lugging the engine, and oil temp gets to where it needs to be much quicker.
Leaving it Normal longer runs the oil temp to over 210-215ºF, which burns off any condensation that might be in the oil. When running in Sport or Sport+, the oil coolers keep it below 200ºF. Thus, if you run in Sport all the time, you may not be boiling off condensation as efficiently.

I'm normally not afraid of the rain at all, but I just had a 1.) $100 detail/hand wash about 2 weeks ago, 2.) when it's hurricane season, we can get anything from light sprinkles which I can easily rinse off, to potentially hair, downed trees, flooded rivers that prevent me from getting home, etc., so in the summer I tend to leave it parked for inclement weather.
In the fall/winter I drive it almost ever day, even in the rain. b00st szn baby!!
To the point of this reply, I tried your methodology yesterday and it really did make a difference in getting the oil temps higher, faster. My intercooler/exhaust install already helped water and oil warm a bit faster, for whatever reason, but this worked great and the engine seemed a lot more happy. Only sacrifice was MPG, as it used significantly more fuel in both my morning and afternoon runs, using these steps. Evened out a little when I got oil to 215 or so, and put it back in Auto.
