Default wheel damage from rock 991.2 turbo s

Yes, I managed to hit a grapefruit sized rock on the highway. It was on a bend. I hit it damaging from front rim. Tire did not blow-out, but it bent the rim to the point that it barely hits the top of the caliper. Terrible sound, I might add. Flat bed trip home. Front rim quote from dealer is $4800.00. Any better options or finding some like new take-offs for sale?

lol $4800? I'd put that money towards some BBS or HRE before I spent that.

If all you're doing is replacing that one, I'd get on ebay and start looking, thats nuts.

For a little bit more you can probably get a full set from someone “upgrading” and have 3 spares.

I did this years ago, and used one (a rear) of the four two years ago. So, three spares left.

Once I’m down to no spare for either front or rear, I’ll have a set straightened and refinished (ideally.)

Alternatively, you *might* be able to get that single wheel straightened and refinished for a lot less.

Edit: I can’t see any damage in your picture so, it’s hard for me to opine on repair.

Edit: Wheels are no longer available :-) Happy to be able to help out Lance.

You are in luck as I am about to list a 991.2 TTS wheels & tires in excellent condition. I just took these pics over the weekend to get them ready to list them for sale.

Tires are 9-32nds all around, 2022 date codes on all and wheels are in excellent condition. These were my spare set and I do not need them any more.

Located in Seattle, DM me for additional info.

Definitely replace the OEM with a used one or set if you can, IMO to save value. Looks like you already have the problem solved too!

I'm very surprised the tyre survived.

Looks as if you have an 'odd' set.
