How dark did you go on your window tint

I think that if I lived in Florida, I go for the darkest tint allowed by law. This is especially true if the car will be regularly parked outside in direct sunlight.
My 991 TTS is also a cabriolet. It is almost always parked in a garage, and when I’m driving it I’ve got the top and the windows down 90% of the time or more. Tint didn’t make much sense to me.

On all my previous cars, including my current daily, I tint everything including the windshield... on my 911 though... I just did the mild tint because I like to see the LWBS seats and the cage
That being said, if I was in Texas or Florida... I'd murder out that thing.

I am in CA and we get hot here too. I do not tint any of my cars dark tint as I do not want to have the "gangsta" look so prevalent here despite it being illegal to tint your front roll downs and your windshield. I typically go light tint on sides and one shade darker for the rear window glass. I do however add a dark tint strip to the windshield that makes it much more comfortable when driving.

Just FYI, it's not the darkness of the tint that provides the most benefit. With the relatively new ceramic tints like XPEL XR Plus, a near optically clear "tint" essentially blocks nearly all UV radiation, and provides substantial heat reduction. I use that on windshields in particular, and for law enforcement purposes, there is no tint on the windshield. It also keeps your night-vision intact, while providing nearly complete sun protection.
Doing that is a real dash protector, which is way better than foldable windshield shades, because it keeps more of the heat from penetrating into the cabin. With a window shade, substantial heat enters the cabin before the sunlight contacts the window shade.

I went with legal tint all around, including the front windshield. I believe that was 30% around and 70% in front.

My car was already tinted and as an AZ car most of its life, was pretty dark and measures about 17% all around (front is oem tho)
Not sure if I would’ve had the ***** to do it that dark right off the bat but I absolutely love it. Contrasts great with the white paint, keeps the inside cooler …but mostly looks great. 👍
my last 911 I went with 28% all the way around and it was okay but if you’re in the South anywhere it’s always nicer to block as much sun as possible.

Yeah, a lot of folks still think darker tint means cooler tint, and that may have been the case with old-school tint film, but it's not with the latest high-end ceramic films. The nearly optically clear premium ceramic films provide as much UV, IR, and heat reduction as the very dark "limo" or privacy tints.

I did:
15% on the sides and back window
55% on windshield
45% on sunroof
I wish I'd gone a tad darker on sides/back windows and windshield, but it does make a huge difference vs. last summer. I really don't even use my sunshade much anymore.

Whatever came from the factory is what's on it.
Tinting in BC draws a lot of unwanted attention.
