Default failed turbo manifold twice?!

hey guys, i have added a video to show what went wrong, the issue is that after i replaced that broken part the new part broke immediately after (few days), what can cause this to fall apart more than once? obviously the part isnt the fault, this connects both turbos and send them into the engine i have added a video

You are getting a boost spike. Diverter valves might be toast. Have you logged the boost psi ?

I'd also check the engine mounts. If the engine is moving around a lot and that part is relatively brittle/stiff it might break like that too, especially with repeated rocking fore and aft or side to side (i.e. fatiguing) motions.

according to porsche mechanic, the failure is a result of a new after market exhaust, which haven't gone through mapping. resulting in over boost. does that make sense?

Take a heck of a spike to blow a new y up. Exhaust caused it …..no.

Hi necro

I see it’s a 991.2. Likely due to different manufacturing/supplier. This has been more common on these cars. Even without a boost bike, but your exhaust shouldn’t cause that. Onfire makes a good point.

A few questions for you…
Was it replaced with a used piece or a brand new unit?
Have you ever looked into using a tuning device that will allow data logging and diagnostics? Because you can definitely change it to an aluminum version, but that doesn’t mean the problem won’t persist. I’d be happy to help if you would like to reach out as this can be a little tricky to sort out with a dealership sometimes.
