REVIEW: 3 Months with my AIM/ES800 991.2 Turbo
I feel that I finally have enough seat time and miles under my belt to provide a proper review of the AIM Performance / ES Motor ES800 package.
Going into this, I knew I was going to send the car to AIM. I had a great experience with them on my 1000WHP 996TT, and countless friends have raved about them. I didn’t want a world record car, but it was a plus know they continually snag records.
I wanted a shop that knows these cars inside and out, could provide turn key service and support, and deliver the ultimate street machine that preserves OEM drivability and reliability.
Purchased the car in April, sent it off to Kustom Koatings for Xpel Stealth, Ceramic Coating, and some GTRS cosmetic bits from Suncoast.
After that, it went straight to AIM as factory performance was less than the 2022 M5 Competition I was coming out of. After some back and forth with Joe & Ryan, we landed on the ES800 package being the best for my needs.
The package is a full bolt-on package with ES Motor’s upgraded VTGs and a meth kit. Often I drive the car on the pump only setting and then swap maps to meth for the RaceMotive 1/3 mile
roll-racing events.
While at AIM I also opted for the KW HAS kit to dial in the ride height. I will be looking to add a DSC Sport suspension module in the future as well.
99% of my time in this car is local and highway driving. It is a thrill, drives just like stock but significantly faster. The AIM exhaust is livable, but provides and exotic GT3esqe scream when WOT (and plenty of turbo spool noise).
On track, swapping to the meth map is just a few clicks on the Cobb and you’re in business. I’ve had the car at 3 race events so far, each of which I drive nearly 2 hours to and then from the track after a day of racing.
This season, the car has continually achieved the highest MPH of every VTG, stock motor 991 in attendance from all other reputable shops/tuners, with a personal best of 166 MPH from a 60 MPH start over a 1/3 mile this past Sunday.
The car has never skipped a beat, and honestly I can’t think of a single comprise I have made with this upgrade (aside from parting with some $$). The fact that we can still utilize the oem clutches without issue further preserves the drivability.
Happy to answer questions for anyone considering a similar package. Periodically I’ll update this thread with photos, videos, and dragy results.
Looking forward to this winter and tossing winter tires + a ski rack on it and taking it to the mountains.

So far my best 60-130 has been 5.14 via dragy just as it started to drizzle, though I believe I can shave more off that as I’ve gotten more comfortable with the car.

Nice review and awesome perfromance.
I did a basic tune and exhaust on my 991.1 Turbo S, AIM did the tune.
I have thought about doing larger Turbos and Intercoolers on mine through AIM, just without Meth.
Currently my car is making 543whp and since I do not race, it is very streetable and pretty fast at 6.82@102.89 1/8th on the street on all-seasons.

I just had the car out for its second ski trip. The Michelin Alpins were awesome on the 2 hour drive home today in the snow storm.
the SeaSucker ski rack also worked top notch, cruising in the way to the mountain this morning at 85-90 MPH (before the snowfall).

I've heard the recommendation frequently to leave the PDK tune OEM for primarily street use. It's more daily-driver friendly without any significant performance loss. The PDK tune is more of a sporty feel thing, which I take to mean the shifts feel more aggressive, as opposed to buttery smooth.
