From what I can tell, it looks like Zunsport now has designed their front left/ right grills in multiple pieces (each secured by the use of clips) so they can reside behind the fins...and now offers a center grill that comes in 2 pieces to fit around the ACC (but it still is placed in front -- not behind the center fin).

Rennline grills on the other hand are not designed in pieces and are all placed behind the fins (but as mentioned previously, requires the front bumper cover to be removed).

Bottom line, Zunsport is easier to install...but Rennline is more secure and looks better!

The Zunsport's center piece being in front of and covering up the center fin may be the deciding factor for me. I'd rather see it behind the center fin like the Rennline.

My Zunnsports. 991.1 TT.

Aren't these behind the fins?

@rodsky There is a fin in the center grill that the Zunsport covers up.

Gotcha - but I don't think the 991.1 has fins in the center section.

My photos are far from professional . Shot on an old iPhone

You may be right about the .1 not having a center fin. I have a .2 and it does have the center fin. Thanks!

I had my my front bumper off this last weekend (991.2 TTS) to replace an outer PDC sensor (Thankfully the outer do not require painting), and I went ahead and installed my Rennline grills.

The outer two grills from Rennline where perfectly cut/bent, but still took some work to install properly due to locating the correct places to drill the pilot holes for the screws, but I would readily do those again and recommend.

The Rennline center grill … I am not so certain I would do it again, and that is due only to my car having ACC. There were literally no cutout pattern or guidance, and the grill seems less than fully stable with the 4 provided screw/nuts after you practically sever it into 2 pieces to accommodate the ACC sensor. The best you get from Rennline on the cutout was a blurb that you “ . . .need to trim the center grill to fit . . .” It took quite some time to determine how I wanted to cut, most of that done while holding the center duct from the front bumper (removed from bumper) up to the attached front duct of car and trying to envision how to cut the grill.

On an aside, I used a furniture dolly, with wooden spars extending out for support, to do my bumper reinstall, as a one man operation .. the dolly was about the perfect height to walk the bumper on. I have attached 2 images to highlight how I used the furniture dolly.

YMMV.

@Router-Dude, ... Yes, I saw the requirement to "trim" the center grill to accommodate the ACC. I don't have ACC, so that won't be a concern. I think the DIY video on Rennline's website shows to remove the headlights to take the front bumper cover off. Looks like you didn't have to do that. Right?

Good idea about making a "mobile bumper holder"

On my 991.2 you cannot remove the headlights until you remove the bumper cover.

BTW: the unfortunate corollary is that you will have to remove the inner fender liner to disconnect the front bumper cover harness on one side and the headlight washer fluid on the other .. I think if you can remove the headlights you can make those disconnects behind the headlights.

https://rennlist.com/forums/991-turb...l#post18996928

you need a ratcheting 10mm box end .. not enough room for a non ratcheting to throw far enough each time ..

I did not need to remove the headlight (until I lost a socket trying via the frunk access hole.)

I don’t know how to tell if you can remove the headlights like pelican parts video showed vs what I had to do .. I did subsequently remove a headlight to recover a socket I used when trying the pelican parts way .. when I had it out .. the end on the headlight that the headlight tool would engage, was covered with a rubber boot/cap .. it also might explain why my car had no headlight tool … I bought one .. and did not get to use it

Thanks, @Router-Dude. Great info! Since mine is a '19, I don't have headlight washers. I think the MY '18 was the last year the 991 had the washers for U.S. versions. So, ........... maybe I might not have to remove the headlights.

Correction to above.

Behind passenger inner fender liner, 2 connections, one RF connector (entry and drive?), and one connector for front markers and PDC.

Behind driver inner fender liner, connector for front markers and maybe a connector for headlight washer, so you will need to loosen both inner fender liners.

I did this w/o removing wheels, turned steering to lock, did one side (the side with wheel pointed out), turned to other lock and then did other side. 6 T25 per fender liner (maybe T20, but all same size).

The real pain without jacking the car is reconnecting (disco is easy) the 2 front spoiler air hose connectors.. not enough room to get two hands under at once, so it took some doing. The 2 hoses are different colors so you will not lose track of which is which, and they are adjacent to each other, so single access location.

Same deal here with the Rennline center grill and ACC. Mine came out great in the end but it was quite a bear to install properly. Definitely not plug and play.

I would buy again though. I like the look better than other products.
