Default Spoiler Failure Adjust Speed message

So I was taking the new pup to the dog park and he was steeping on the condole buttons as we were driving.
As I got on the highway I received the Spoiler Failure message. Got home turned car on and off, attached my AP and no codes. Spoilers won’t go up manually.
Any ideas? Of course my Fidelity Platinum warranty just expired.

Under the circumstances, assuming that the pup’s activities are both corollated and causal… fuse… would be my first guess.

Now… don’t ask me where it is…

From what I could find it’s C5 (30). I pulled it and it looks fine. Going to have my indy check it.

This is fairly common, my car does it on hot days.

The front spoiler works on an air pump + bladder system. On hot days, the thinner air causes the spoiler to deploy slower than the system likes, and it pops up that error. It takes at least one full ignition cycle to fix. On hot days I usually deploy the spoilers by button and go with that. Just don't forget they're deployed if you try to enter a driveway or parking lot that's a bit steep.

I've had it at two different dealers a sum total of 3 times and each time DESPITE me telling them I knew what the problem is, they took the rear spoiler system apart and said it works fine. Dealerships are idiots. Now my car is out of extended and regular warranty and I feel like I got taken by the dealers. So if you're going to have it fixed (it's a revision replacement and is NOT cheap) then tell them straight up that you know what it is and if they take apart the rear spoiler you aren't paying for the labor. There's probably a procedure they're supposed to do or something, but this is what your issue almost certainly is.

Looks like it is deploying but losing air and that is what is prompting the message and spoilers to retract. I have an INDY appointment next week for an oil change and they will look at it and see if it is a hose connection or other issue. The front spoiler is good not hits to it so hoping for an easy resolution not a $5k one.
Thanks for the info. I'll post the outcome.

You haven't removed the front bumper lately have you? There are two air lines that have push/lock type connectors on them. You have to pull the front bumper forward to see them. Maybe one came loose.

This is what I am hoping is the issue which is a much more economical solution.

Mine is currently at the dealer with the same problem. I will definitely be interested to hear your outcome.

My car goes in on the 12th. I’ll post what the issue is and possible fix.

Took the car into my Indy. Checked it all. Did a recalibration of the system and so far all is good. Relieved.

Active aero. There’s a Shop Manual procedure using the PIWIS to make the AA system “recalibrate.”

Show me a link to that, have the service manual don't see anything on recalibrating the AA. Would be interested in this..

It’s referenced in one of the sections on spoiler/apron removal. Even if I’d renewed my subscription, I don’t think I could send a link anyway. (For the moment, I just have piles of saved PDFs.)
