C 8 Corvette
Interesting coincidence - I was at a Chevy dealer this weekend because I had not yet sat in a c8 and I wanted to know what the interior feel was like. I'm 6ft 4in and 295lbs, and I was surprisingly comfortable in there. They tried to sell me a CPO 2021 rapid blue HTC 3LT with 13K miles (https://www.mikemaroonechevrolet.com...d3ff6a439c.htm) I overheard one of the other sales people say to another that there was no realistic deal in progress because there was no chance in hell I was actually going to trade in my car on any Vette LOL. He was right though.
Interesting opinions some of you seem to me making without ever driving one. I have been a member here since 2006, (20 years on Ferrarchat the C8 is a better car than my 458 and a corvette forum member since 2011) and have gone (50+ years) owning at least one Porsche (45 total) and the C8 I picked up last month shares space with my 1 of a kind 911 (also known as the widow maker makes a 996GT2 seem boring), it is also car #484. For those of you that do not remember me I'm the guy took apart a brand-new Gallard in 2004 and turned into RWD then sent Lamborghini the specs so they could build a real sports car which they did. I know a little bit about automotive design and over the years have built 100's of one of kind cars, rails and race cars. The biggest problem with the C8 is that it is too damn good, (which actually makes it a little boring unless), and the only way I can enjoy it is with all the nannies turned off. Take it from an old guy that has owned just about everything you could imagine the C8 is the best car out of the box I have ever driven, that includes everything from an Enzo to an Edsel.
I drove two of them, one was an early model, and the second belongs to a friend of mine here in Vancouver.
I felt the steering was a little vague for my liking - not sure if I needed more seat time, but it was not nearly responsive as the 991 (stock to stock, the 996 is even pointier IMHO, but has a whole whack of suspension work and way stickier tyres on it). I also found that the rearward vision was a little lacking, no doubt due to the mid engine design. Perhaps my opinion would be different if I were test driving one and not driving a buddies and I could flog it guilt free, but one thing it did do for me was make me want to try a Z06, which I suspect will be much sharper in every aspect.
Cheers,

I've owned a C5 ZO6, a C6 Grand Sport and a C7 ZO6.......fav was the C5 after adding twin turbos and a forged engine. The C8 has a lot of advantages over the older models but "for me", it's just not in the Porsche league of fit and finish, steering, handling, acceleration , no AWD...until ERay..... For the money, the C8 is a lot of car.....
The ERay has my attention if they crank the power up from the initial release specs......it has potential.

Impressive for Chevrolet, but needs more power to overcome the weight. Plus will need a bunch of time on the market to debug the normal Chev newness,,,,,,,just like what happened with the Chev PDK

However, if it doesn't interest someone as much as others, it really doesn't matter how " good " it is.
Most will never reach any of these vehicles full potential, so splitting hairs is all we're doing here mostly.
For me, it's still just a Corvette that's trying to be an appear like an exotic. (The racing scene and why Chevy built the C8 is a whole different conversation ).
Original owner (well, CarChick technically) of a C5 Z06 that’s still in the garage…
Reminds me: It’s time to go out to Spring Mountain and flog ‘vettes again.
Have you had the C8 on a track? From the in-car videos I have seen it appears to have almost-catastrophic understeer. Real? Or poorly-torqued nuts behind the wheel?

No C8 but did have a C7 as a daily driver for 4 years and still have a pristine low miles C4 ZR-1 that’s my car-show car.
No issues with the cars but I’ll raise a (tangential?) angle that no one has mentioned so far - the PCA and our local chapter thereof completely blow away the Corvette club experience!

I know it's off topic but I can't help myself - C4 ZR1 is such a classic! I remember when it was released and being mesmerized by the widebody treatment compared to the standard C4 (which was also beautiful to me). I'm not a vette guy, but that ZR1 demanded respect and imho set the corvette as a bona fide competitor for market share in the sports car class. If I get to a point where I'm a car collector, the C4 ZR1 would be a standout show piece for me.
