Default I just bought this

Hi just picked up a 2015 991 turbo with 37k miles on it
I knew it was lowered but I didn’t know how bad it drove it needs many things I took it to my mechanic
to have it overlooked on inspection we found that it need axel boots all leaking and shocks need to be replaced. I didn’t think it would need so many things with 37k

Congrats on the purchase. 991 turbos are great cars. guessing this may be your first Porsche

Where did you buy it? Did you get a PPI or test drive?

If the shocks need to be changed like that it must have been a bad roads in the area the previous owner was driving in.

Yeah probably but does lowing the cause the axels to leak prematurely seems like there’s a lot of wear in tear

Congrats on a beautiful car.
As for lowering cars causing stuff to leak, I never lower my cars. My back takes a beating and that leads me to think the car is taking a beating as well, so indirectly that extra pounding can take a toll on various components, IMHO.

Here is a pic of my Porsche on stock suspension, I don't think it looks like a 4x4 truck. My Mustang on stock suspension, maybe a different story.

Congrats on the car, don't quite get why the shocks need to be replaced @ 37k unless they were indeed driving on bad roads like some mentioned already

$150 an axle sounds very cheap.

Car looks good overall...looks like previous owner change the side intakes and sideskirts to the RS. If you are going to keep the car lowered I'd just go aftermarket lowering kits such as Bilstein or KW. Bilstein is plug and play for the dampening controls so that is a nice option.
