Shocking...............
Today, after a long day of work, I decided to reward myself and take my "By Design 100 octane tuned" 991.2 TTS out for a nice drive.
Going to my friends house near San Marino, I got off the 210 freeway and headed southbound.
I noticed another P-car and heard how loud it really was. Awesome I thought. Pulling up to me sure enough was a white GT3 RS.
I was about to compliment him as he pulled up next to me, but instead he saluted me with a high rev. I thought, ok, he wants to to known..........
I rolled down the windows and was the first to say, NICE CAR! He and his GF giggled, then .................
To my surprise his answer was..........if we were in the canyons I'd tear you up!
My response was dude, I just complimented you and........we're not in the canyons so now what?
I knew a race was on, but the last thing I needed was a huge exhibition of speed ticket, so now I'm looking side to side, fore and aft.
I heard him using launch control, but I felt no need, so I just waited for the light.
Bam. Giving him the go, I heard his launch and 9K first to 2nd. I left him like a bad habit and gapped him two LAUSD school buses.
As he "kindly" gave me the bird as he drove away I thought, really.......what just happened???
I'm hoping that this was an isolated incident against GT3 owners - do they really have such a bad attitude?

That’s a horrible experience and totally shocking. The other driver was a total jerk. Whenever I “run” anyone- obviously when there’s no traffic around and when not endangering anyone- I totally give the other driver a thumbs up. I always think it’s really cool to see and experience other cars in full fury. And If I get outran, I totally pay homage and give the other guy a bow of the head and a huge thumbs up. We are all car guys and this stuff is cool. What a tool this guy was to you.
FWIW- I am actually a super careful and conservative driver. I’ve only gotten 1 speeding ticket- that was in my 930 15 years ago.

You should have launch controlled him.
To my surprise his answer was..........if we were in the canyons I'd tear you up! = Translation - If I had a larger p-nis I would not have to say things like that.
Nice run and be careful out there.
I try never to street race and if I do I try to back off before speed gets too high, over 100 I get worried about losing my license. That is why dig racing in Turbo S is great, it is over fast.
Don't ask me about my run in my 2021 Mustang GT vs a BMW X3M the other day from a highway roll, (note to self - never give a SUV like that the hit in a low powered manual tranny car), I could not shake him up to (I can't say the speed).

If he was a true Porsche enthusiast he would have known the raw power of the Turbo S…not to mention a modified one. Porsche is so good at making each of its cars to excel a for an intended purpose. I have a friend who races cup cars and a GT3 and when we go cruising on the roads together he says flat out my Turbo S will smoke him in acceleration. However when he gets on a track the GT3 is incredible to watch.

I am honestly not surprised at your experience. I've not had any friendly encounters with GT3 owners. They usually act like I don't exist when I know they've seen my car and none have attempted to race me. Even at Supercar Sundays they don't acknowledge the TTS like other Porsche owners do. It's almost like you have the non-GT3 Porsche owners and GT3 crowd in their separate groups.
I'm sure there are some friendlier GT3 owners out there and people who own both a Turbo S and TTS but I've not come across them yet.
Chatting with people at Famoso they tell me that they don't often see GT3s and when they do show up they frequently run in the low 12s and high 11s - not able to get traction and not built for straight line acceleration.

That guy is a jerk.
But he is also CLUELESS.
Even many Porsche folks are clueless about the rankings of Porsches, in terms of performance. Any stock 991.2 Turbo S or even a "base" Turbo is faster than any GT3. UNLESS on a short track or in the twisties at lower elevations. If up in the mountains, FUGGETABOUTIT!. Naturally aspirated GT3s are weak and gasping for air at high elevations, while Turbos blow and go.
The other reason GT3s are slow accelerating is TORQUE. Turbos have huge torque as well as AWD, both factors in acceleration..
Even the base 991.2 Turbo has a huge 523 ft-lbs of torque. Compare that to the measly 337 ft-lbs or so of the GT3 or GT3RS. GT3s are designed for (short) tracks and in the twisties.
A few of us took a ride to Sebring to see some friends doing the HPDE that day. A buddy running a 991.2 GT3RS looked good out there. I later assured him now fast he was at the end of the straight at his braking point. About 135. Then he added that my 991.2 Turbo would be doing 165 at that point. Get the point? And he should know, because his previous car was a 991.2 base Turbo coupe like mine.
In street and highway acceleration contests, a GT3 or GT3RS will lose to a Turbo or Turbo S. With tunes, the difference is even greater.
I wouldn't be very popular posting this on the GT3 forum, but Turbo owners know im right.

Since this was a first encounter between the two of you, this tells me that;
(1) he just purchased the car or borrowed it.
(2) has never tracked it.
(3) is a Mustang owner. Sorry, just had to say that. I actually like Mustangs also.

Very safe to assume that.
