Yes. Much more robust, a bit longer for a tighter fit and has constant tension clamps. Often Porsche updates re-engineers weak points with great solutions

Hmm, weird. When we spoke and wanted to go with the 2019 model, this is the part the dealer gave me. Did I get the wrong one?

Found a picture of the 991-110-677-71, clamps are definitely different/improved. $77 shipped for Gaudin.

D@ng, I'll call them and see what can be done. I think I suggested that part number to someone else on this forum. Hope he sees this.

That sucks, especially at close to $200.. Surprised they don't just supercede the old one with this. Maybe they have to get rid of the stock first.

Oh darn I just saw that. Sometimes the dealerships can make mistakes or they just don’t know. What’s the current status on your car?

In a recent thread "991.2 intake blew up before throttle body", there was a similar problem. I'm having trouble following the Porsche plumbing -- is there an OEM "Y" pipe with a plastic collector at the end closest to the throttle body, followed by the bellows discussed in this tread, then the throttle body? If I am seeing this chain of components correctly, the plastic collector at the end of the OEM "Y" pipe blew in the previous thread and the bellows blew in this one. Would this chain of components be eliminated by an aftermarket "Y" pipe -- best I can tell, they connect directly to the throttle body .

Called the dealer, they recognized they made a mistake and will take this incorrect boot back. I will get the new/correct one on Monday. Thanks guys.

That's cool, glad they made it right! It's weird because when I added it to my cart, it stated "This part does not fit your 2014 911.". It seems the parts system calls out the 997 part number for a 991.1, and the 991 part number for a 991.2. That's why I asked Sam if it will actually fit.

As confusing as it gets. The dealer said the 997 part number was the correct one for the 991.1 TTS. However, since I wanted the boot that came with 991.2, he said it is the part number 991....

Substantially different, I couldn't figure out any way to squeeze the new one in without damaging the clamps, hell I could barely get the old one out and the new one is much longer. Ended up pulling the bumper, airbox, and pretty much the whole Y pipe (minus the small hoses).

Can't imagine the new style could blow off if it wanted too..

It did, just had to get the Y pipe out of the way enough to get it on the throttle body, then everything snapped into place.
