Default TPMS replacement...

Just curious what folks have used for new TPMS sensors?
I'm picking up two factory rear wheels for some sticky tires and need to install sensors/valves in them.

I have found replacements from forum vendors, as well as from other vendors online, and the price difference between vendors can be substantial.

It also appears that there are different part #'s that appear to work for the selected model year...in this case, 2015 Turbo S.
Descriptions frequently lack detail that would spell out the differences...one sensor can be $40 and the other can be $70 from the same vendor (different part#'s but appear to be interchangeable, with similar specs) but there is no additional detail as to why there is a price difference.
Other suppliers have pricing at near $150 each for what appear to be identical parts.

I've done a search here but have found nothing definitive.
I plan to make a couple phone calls next week but I just wanted to check with the forum to see if anyone has had the same questions and what they found.
Thanks in advance.

Go to www.tpmsbargains.com. You used to be able to use “5%off” as well for a discount. Don’t know if to still works but have had good luck. Huf is the OE sensor and yes you can get the OE ones (more expensive) but you can also get the same brand that aren’t OE for considerably less.

OK, so they are the same, just one is aftermarket manufacture and one is OE, which drives the price difference?

I just don't get that they both say "Make: Porsche" yet one is $35 and the other is $65.

FWIW, I'm really trying not to complicate this...lol

Same sensor. Same production. One is just OE and one is not. They are going to operate the exact same, same battery etc etc.

Yep, 5%off worked, saved a couple bucks.
Thanks again.

I did a lot of research on TPMS after my last dealer service visit, when they gave me an estimate of $400, PER SENSOR, for replacement. I said "thanks but no thanks", and then discovered that they were charging about 10x the going retail rate.

The TPMS bargains site linked earlier is a good one. Tirerack also has decent pricing if you want to combine a purchase of TPMS with tires if you want to go that route.

Yea, I already went the tpmsbargains route for a good deal.
Ordered a set of tires from discount tire, as well.

I saw the same thing and thought something didn't seem right, so that's why I started this thread.
I did see the tirerack tpms offer which is also very fair as well, quite a bit less costly than other vendors.
Funny how some vendors have very fair pricing on some items and then other items can be pretty steep.

This is clearly a hate crime.

You should report it...

Charging $400/set is cheatin'...

Charging $400/sensor is a criminal offense against the "otherwise uninformed".

Default Just ordered the bargain ones, too.

Thank you for the links and the thread. I just ordered the non-OE ones - lets see what happens. I even applied the 5%off code.
I just hope they 'learn' as well as the other ones.

And yes - they also quoted me $400 😂
