Default Tell me about my 991.2 Turbo S!

I thought this would make some good reader content about our Turbo S!

I am a first time Porsche owner, as some of you already know, I have a 2018 Turbo S, bought with 7400 miles, loving this ownership, but learning something new about the car constantly!
Now, for those who say "read the manual" ...............ok, but just a quick post to teach me would be great.

Here's what I've learned so far.......

1) you dont have to run such high tire pressures stated on the door sill!
2) when you pull both shifter paddles towards you quickly, the car shifts into neutral (very cool!)
3) when you hover your hand near the front porsche logo, the frunk will open
4) safest way to run good gas is to mix 3-4 gallons of 100 unleaded racing gas to a tank of crappy cali 91
5) found and used the "20-second" performance button on a hard launch.......so much fun. >>still not sure if this button builds boost, adds extra HP, what does it do exactly?<<
6) 4WS is amazing!

Overall, this is an amazing car with so much to offer. After doing my research, it is my perfect DAILY "Supercar". The 600LT and 488 were cars I passed up for the Turbo S.
So tell me more about this car that I or others dont know!

Thanks in advance.

Congrats !

When in Sport Plus, the Response “boogie button “ is not needed as the trans, boost and LC are locked in and the car will launch at 5400ish rpm. Aero is adjusted for max downforce. Great for tight curve work....bad for top speed due to aero drag. Best for Dyno tests.

When in Normal or Sport , the trans is not optimized, the boost ramp is slower and the Launch is 4400ish rpm.....unless you push the boogie button and it defaults to Sport Plus settings for 20 seconds. Sport mode also alters the idle sound and adds throttle lift burbles.

Indiviual Mode is the best of all worlds for Accel testing. You can set it for neutral Aero Drag but with Sport Plus trans, boost ramp and Launch features.

Good luck !

Out of curiously, do you know how it does this Tom? I thought it was by just dropping to a lower gear but it must also alter the decel fuel curves and timing. What a cool feature.

How do you set the Individual Mode up? Is it hard to do?

I think you are 100% on it. The idle rpm slightly increases. The after burbles definitely is a fuel firing sequence timed by the stroke position....could retard the timing as well and the decal rpm increase from holding/lowering the gear . Fun stuff.

Just a 2 minute deal. The manual walks you through it with button sequence pushes.

In my experience no one on this forum calls it a 911.2. Its a 991.2 or a 911 Turbo S.

I must say coming from BMW m cars for the last decade and having the extremely easy to use I-drive system, getting used to my .2 tts has been difficult for the last few days but once I tuned the Burmester and programmed Individual mode.. it’s really set it and forget it.

The car is so much better then the flag ship ///M4/6/8s that I’ve owned in the most important ways.

Im glad I finally took the Pcar plunge.

Am I crazy for spending the last minute, waving my hand/key above my 991.1 Turbo S, hoping the frunk would open? (It didn't, LOL)

Mine must be defective! Oh well.

Hitting that button isn't too difficult.
