What am I doing wrong?

Your car gives me a few ideas. I like some of the yellow accents. I'm thinking of swapping out the std gear lever and plate for the Turbo S exclusive setup- gear lever in aluminum, with the black lines on the plate. Might even get the lever in graphite blue leather.
Nice yellow accent on the doors. I like the yellow chrono too.

Go to garagefloringinc.com They are the 12” x 12” hard plastic tiles. I am by no means a serious handyman but this project was fun, easy and fast! The website lets you design your floor any way you want and calculates how many tiles you will need of each color. They lock together with just a couple of whacks with a rubber mallet. After two years, the floor still looks new.

Jay,
With your dental skills and my medical knowledge, we make a dangerous combination for home improvement 🤪. The whole project took me about 6 hours over 2 days. The learning curve is very fast. The hardest part is trimming tiles where there are non-square areas (i have a stairway that juts in) and the edges that wind up not exactly a multiple of 12”. Luckily, I have a radial arm saw (and still have all my fingers) that made it very easy. A hand saw or hack saw works too.
By the way, where are you in CT? I’m in North Kingstown, RI.

Hey Roger - your car looks great and those are some well-done photos : )
As to thread interaction seeming thin, I think we probably all wonder the same thing at times. The majority of posts in the two threads "random pics" and "what did you do today" generate little if any discussion compared to threads with more of a specific topic, definitely not just yours. Good reminder that some more back and forth engagement makes it more fun for everyone.

Thanks Beezupra. I agree, and I’m feeling the love with this thread.

It was Opticoat. The owner has a black truck on which he used four different brands on different body panels. The Opticoat was the clear winner in terms of appearance and longevity.

Dear Rennlist Turbo members,
I have been a member of this forum for 2 years, but am about to retire myself from it. I have started a number of threads which I believe have been in the spirit of this forum and quite interesting. I have a 2017 Turbo S Cabriolet which I believe is quite attractive and unique in the cosmetic modifications I have made. I have also made many performance modifications which are talked about all the time in this forum. I have worked with, and posted about, Stef at Europipe. I have worked with, and posted about, Sam at ByDesign. Nevertheless, I receive NO comments to my posts, or my thread gets immediately hijacked and takes off in another direction. What the hell am I doing wrong?
This post is prompted by the recent post in "what did you do to your 991 turbo today" by DJ123 and the reply comment by Rodsky. DJ123, your car looks fabulous, BUT, just 3 weeks ago I posted pictures of my car which had just been totally restored with paint correction, double ceramic coating and custom speed yellow door decals by a high end detailer. I got a total of ZERO comments; how about just a "wow" or a "looks great" or a “nice car” response? I have posted photos of my interior cosmetic mods and had a total of ZERO responses. What the hell am I doing wrong?
My performance mods are:
Cobb Stage 2 map customized by Sam
Cobb PDK remap
Europipe version 1 exhaust
TPC Racing DSCv3 suspension controller
Braille Lithium battery
TechArt lowering springs
My cosmetic modifications are:
Escort 360ci custom install with display in the rearview mirror
Porsche Exclusive black wheels
Carbon fiber intakes
Carbon fiber wind deflectors
SmartTop convertible top module
Zunsport radiator grills
Cocomat sisal mats
GT3 side skirts
T-design drive mode memory module
Musicar tweeters
TechArt custom steering wheel, gearshift and door handles
Painted ventilation slats
Lots of photos attached
It seems to me that there is a clique of 12-15 frequent users who converse and interact with one another but tend to ignore “outsiders”. I have appreciated the information and humor contained in their posts, but it would be nice if once in a while, they could acknowledge less frequent posters. Call me overly sensitive, call me a jerk or call me a whiner, but that’s how I feel, and I believe I have a point here. Any comments guys?

FYI - we have some common mods. My DSC v3 will be going in at the same time as my new wheels and tires. I have heard so many good things about it but certainly would be curious if you had some before and after impressions..

In some ways things have become very “who is the fastest” driven. The fact is the other 99% are enjoying different levels of enthusiasm for these cars and this forum is here to share it all. Whatever level that may be I’ve been part of it since the beginning and though it’s changed a little, theres definitely an awesome community here. I blame part of it on 2020 haha.
Keep them coming!

Many thanks Rodsky; your comments are quite reassuring.
Thoughts on the suspension mods: I put the TechArt springs on first, mainly for the cosmetic appearance; they did not disappoint, but they definitely made the ride harsher and I bottomed out on a speed bump causing damage to a crossmember that had to be replaced. Nevertheless, it seems that cornering is enhanced (but I’m not a track guy). I installed the DSC controller because I love the idea of the technology and many members said it dramatically IMPROVED the ride. I find the ride MUCH harsher after DSC, but again, it seems to enhance cornering. I may only be experiencing “placebo effect”, but that’s how it feels to the seat of my pants.
I’d be very interested in your thoughts after you install it.
Roger
P.S. Yours is a Cabriolet too, right. Here’s a disappointing feature of the DSC install: there’s a port for a USB cable on the controller; it makes perfect sense to leave a cable attached so you can update firmware and change mapping without undoing half the car. It’s simple on the Coupe, but it’s impossible on the Cabrio because of different mechanical parts.
