Default thinking of 2014-16 Turbo S

Im in a 17 Carrera S, love the car,,always wanted a Turbo S but my pocketbook is only so deep...is there any difference between the years that make 1 year better than the others..also i dont like those big wings on the decklid, is there a choice on a smaller spoiler

The 2014 - 2016 cars are essentially the same. There are a few minor tweaks from one to the next, such as rear view camera. I think it was optional on the early models and standard later. The rear spoiler is a standard feature on the Turbo S, and it comes in a standard version and an aerokit version. The standard version is the smaller one.

The 991.1 turbo s is the best bang for the buck performance wise in the Porsche world. No reason to get a .2 IMO, that warranted the $30-40k more. The only things "noticeable" are the different steering wheel, front running lights, rear tail lights and the rear deck lid design.

Get a very low mile .1 and you'll be happy.

Photos below show 991.1 Turbo S without aerokit (spoiler extended) and a 991.2 Turbo S with aerokit (spoiler retracted)... The primary difference in the spoiler is the aerokit, not the .1 to .2 transition. The aerokit spoiler turns up noticeably at the ends...

And the .1 with spoiler retracted... I think the wing is the perfect size for the car!

As noted above, only the smallest of differences between 2014, 2015, 2016 Turbo S's... In fact I didn't even realize that the backup camera wasn't standard on my build, but just looked at the sticker and it was bundled in with the Park Assist feature on my 2014..

Overall, very sorted cars with no notable issues on any of the 991.1 Turbo or Turbo S production years (2014-1016). By 2014, the overall 991 platform already had almost two years of production that worked out any real kinks, and the turbo drivetrain was largely the same as the 997.2 Turbo S...

Got a '14 turbo S coupe just over a year ago. CPO'ed with 17K miles. It's been my DD since August '19 and I've put 6K miles on it. It drives smaller than it is- since I'm a "stick shift" kind of guy I always shift with the paddles and occasionally with the lever and almost always in sport mode. (Have the COBB PDK tune for proper motorsport shift direction) Still haven't tried launch control- afraid to do that on a public road! Been driving various Porsches for 50 years and this makes a great DD. (Though I must admit my all time favourite DD was an Audi A8 sport SWB)

Have to agree a good .1 TTS is a LOT of bang for the buck. You won't be disappointed. There seem to be quite a few out there...

I have a 2015 Turbo Exclusive with the Champion Motorsports "S" track upgrades. Simply spectacular car!

$215 list CPO car with 15k on it bought a year and a half ago. Amazing value and their is no way I would ever let this one go. It is a permanent addition to the collection!

There are quite a few cars out there so buy CPO with confidence and Enjoy!

sounds good ! Also got a 15 tts , not sure if the keyless comfort entry option is standard on the 15-16 (had a 13 tts 99.1 before that and it didn’t have it ) but for me it was a much more important feature than the rear camera which I never pay attention to

I am on the hunt for an Agate Grey .1 Cab. I have the GTS version but miss the Torque from the F80M I came from. I have done the comparisons of .1 s .2 TTS and I can see why to buy the .2 yet. I ventured over here tonight hoping to learn why I should spend the extra dollars on a .2. Any compelling reasons?

Billet turbo compressor wheels is a key difference on the 991.2 TTS vs. the 991.1 TTS. That, fuel system improvements, PCM updates and Car Play are why I chose a .2 model. Only you can decide if those make a difference in your purchase options, but you can’t go wrong either way!
