Yeah, just turned 54 on Jan 2nd.
My knees, broken feet, broken wrists, separated shoulders, and broken ribs were all from Motorcross bikes. I rode dirt bikes since I was 8 y.o.
Gave them up finally in 2005 when I broke my right heal bone into 5 pieces. Road sport bikes from 1999-2021 and then had to stay on 4 wheels from that point forward.
Yeah the wife took me home in her 14' Cayenne S.

The bionic man - you're a spring chicken - younger than me. I'm still on OEM knees - but was just complaining that steep downhills hurt a little. No mods to my body yet - only cars. Everyone who has their knees done - loves it after PT and recovery. I'm sure it will turn out great for you..
Glad to hear you're still on OEM materials... Wished I was but the Dirt Bikes for most of my life got me.
Yes, I intend to be aggressive with PT, mainly because I have to be back on my feet teaching the first week in March.
Thank you, Sir!

I am feeling you on the bike thing, I rode the Blackbird last year and really didn't feel all that focused on it. Will try again this year, and if the feeling is truly gone, the bike will soon follow.
So happy you made it through!
That's pretty crazy, guess it does catch up with you at some point...

Thank you brother!! Doing well so far. Hardly any pain, however, I just got to my first Physical Therapy appointment so that’ll change soon. Lol
I so miss riding motorcycles but it’s just not in the cards or would be smart for my future. We always too aggressive and competitive.
hope you can enjoy the Blackbird! Iconic bike!
Thanks Man, this year will be a defining one - I was having problems shoulder checking last year and really, when thundering around on a 180hp bike, there should not be any problems in being spatially aware, so it kind of freaked me out. I was never capable, or skilled enough to ride and more than 6/10ths, hell, I even had problems keeping the front wheel on the ground through the first three gears, so I have a great respect for those that can run hard, and aggressively, and still stay upright.
That's the mark of a good surgeon to leave you with very little pain, and physio will hopefully not be too long.
What's going on with the 991...?

I just finished my first physical therapy appointment and I actually feel pretty great. The quad near the knee is really sore but other than that it doesn’t hurt bad at all. It’s quite swollen so that’s more of the pain is just the stretching of the skin and what not but I’m very pleased with how it feels for right now.
Nothing really on the car. This is the worst time to try to advertise anyway, but that’s actually a good thing for me because I really struggle with even thinking about getting rid of it. I will certainly hold out as long as I can, but if the right offer comes through, I’ll be forced to make a decision.
That long drive we took the other day certainly keeps me excited about it though.

I'm in the process of getting rid of a bunch of equipment, downsizing as it were, but the equipment I'm getting rid of, I no longer really drive, so they're just taking up space...
Happy the physio went well!
Ok, just watched that while I was eating my breakfast, and a couple of things come to mind; one, I really want to get out there and drive that road, and two, you drive in manual mode like it do - using the gear shift instead of the flappy paddles. Great pics at the end!
Another observation, how nice the weather is!

Yes, I love to use the shifter itself. Way more fun and engaging and just as quick for non-track work. Yes, brother. Come do a trip sometime and let's drive around all those amazing roads.
The weather has been great for sure. We are getting colder this week and were supposed to see some snow (very minor) this week but they've backed off on that. Too bad. I love snow since we don't see it often.
Took pics of the 991, and others.
After finally healing up pretty well and returning to work March 2nd after my knee replacement, I've not driven much.
However, I did add another vehicle to the "retirement portfolio". lol. Had two of them in the late 90's / early 2000's and LOVED them.
So, I bought another one. 91' 300ZX Twin Turbo.
Can ya tell I like Silver / Gray? lol
Got them all out yesterday for each to be exercised a bit so took the opportunity to to shot a group pic.
F-150 belongs to the company I work for, it's just ironic they gave me a Gray one. lol
