Default Misfire Detected

Got for first real issue with my Turbo. 2015 with 13000 miles. Getting a
P0304 (Cylinder Misfire Detected)
P2311 Ignition Coil "D" Secondary Circuit
P0354 Ignition coil "D" Primary Control Circuit/Open

along with 4 wheel drive limited, PDCC Fault and PSM Loss.

Could this be a battery? Will you get Misfire from a battery going bad? Is a coil or plug gone bad?

Thanks

I about to order new plugs and and coil packs. I am hoping it's a bad coil pack. I actually started taking the car apart, it looks like its going to be a pain to get to everything. I did this on my 996 Turbo and it was a lot easier.

My car is a 2015 with 13000 miles.

Got it. Please let me know if that resolves. I’ve got a 2012 958 with 125k mi.

It must not be very common because no one has posted in this thread

Most likely a bad coil.

Having the same with my 2018 Cayenne Platinum (@38.5K miles - had the car for a year now). OBD2 reads a low number of misfire on random cylinders. Replaced the plugs with NGKs which resolved the issue for roughly 24 hours. Replaced the dirty air filter with K&N which again resolved (oddly) for 24 hours now the stuttering is back. Coils are next... Anyone have a coil pack/links they recommend? Other ideas?

Most likely a coil pack issue. The plugs are probably fouled now and need replaced. Replace all coil packs.

Plugs were replaced 1 week ago. Do you have a go-to Porsche parts site and coil brand to recommend?

Curious... when replacing the plugs/coils, did plug threads have any oil? If so, replacing coils still fixed the sputtering/misfiring?

Coil packs were the resolution for me. Replaced them with the coil pack kit from ECS Tuning . The old plugs did not look fouled, but since I was there, seemed to make sense to replace everything.

Word to the wise, don't be lazy and use a torque wrench - I over-torqued the bolt that holds the coil in place and snapped it. I had to use a drill, a hammer and jewelers screwdriver to get the little nub out. Not fun.

What’s the torque on the coil bolt?

honestly, not sure. I’ve heard hand tighten all the way to 15 ft lbs. I have the AllData PDF but couldn’t find it there either. With how weak the bolts are, maybe hand tighten is the way to go...

At least for the 997.2 as per workshop manual it is 7.5 ft lbs.
EDIT: Same for 991 as per Workshop manual. 7.5 ft lbs or 10 Nm
