Leftover 19 Turbo S versus 992 S

I dunno. If you are buying new, 991.2 is $13k less MSRP. Assuming you can get $15k off a new one. You’re close to $30k. For that, you get 640HP and for as much hand wringing, complaining about the new model we do, almost always, the new one is better. Maybe I’m doing the math wrong, but new to new I’d take a 992 (and spend the $30k)..
now, you can go get a 18 and save real $$. Like $60-70K. If it’s CPO, you have almost the same warranty. And you can leave as is (stock) and it’s awesome as is. Or you could spend $20 to $25K and tune it plus Kline and so for $45K less, you have something even more awesome..
Decisions Decisions..
good news, you can’t really go wrong..

exactly what I did - found a 2018 demo with a thousand plus miles that they gave me CPO on so I now have 5 years of warranty instead of 4. Plus I saved 50k.

I would likely stick to a '17 CPO TTS or go with the new 992 once they've been available for some time (maybe 6 months or so) to get a 4-5% discount... would also stick to very low options. I think overall for a few years cost of ownership those are the sweet spots. Although I'd probably buy a Turbo over the Turbo S anyway.
My experience with the 997.2 TTS was that year didn't matter much once the 991's had been out for a while. I.e., a car with similar miles that was a an '11, vs a '13 -- there was basically no price difference for the actual sale (<$10k). Therefore, those that had recently bought say a '13 faced a pretty big hammer compared to those that had picked up a year or two earlier vehicle with similar mileage. Though to be fair, I think Porsche has adjusted their CPO policy since I owned it, but maybe I'm mixing that up with BMW.
Obviously depends on how long you are planning to keep the vehicle. I just noticed the 991.2's REALLY held their value for the first couple of years, and my guess is you'll be able to take advantage of that with the 992 since their MSRP didn't jump that much over the 991.2. I have no crystal ball =) I think either way it's a good problem to have!

Asking prices online for 991.2 TTS (not Turbo - strictly Turbo S) seem to be min 145 and that is for very low option cars, i.e. <200 MSRP. The 992.1 Turbo S after all taxes and fees hovers around $235K min w/ just minimum essential options so that make a 991.2 at around high 130s a good price but not sure how long it will be before 991.2 TTS avg. price becomes high 130s.

This thread is very interesting to me. Ima, selling my Ferrari 458 Spider (just tired of the maintenance) and was going to order a new Carrera S, but the I drove a 991.2 Turbo S. Can’t decide if I want to spend a little more and get the last gen Turbo S, or go with the newer, less expensive and slower Carrera S.

I've driven both extensively. I'd go with 991.2 if you want a glitch free experience. I still like the 992 s and C4S especially styling but 991.2 is where my money would go 100 percent. It has much more character when you're on the road or track.

If you dont need or care for the new creature comforts/features of the 992, It’s an easy decision IMO. I am a bit biased though. I would recommend testing both out and going with your gut.

Update. I just made a deal on a 991.2 Carmine Red S this evening. Pick it up on Friday. Beautiful car. Can't wait to get it broken in.
