Default Roof Questions 991 turbos

Hello,

Any help is appreciated. Considering used 991 turbos. I am confused as to which roof options apply to which years, which roof options are more common, etc. In particular I would love to have the entire roof be the matching paint color of the car. I see a lot of 991 turbos with a black roof regardless of the exterior color and avoiding this is a necessity for me. Are there specific model years that had these black roofs, and/or were they an option? I would prefer sunroof delete but would settle for a paintmatched roof with a sunroof. Do I need to restrict my search to specific model years?

I may be wrong but if the sunroof is glass its black. Otherwise, its body color. I know of only one sunroof delete car here in pacific northwest. Option I would have loved to have since I never use the sunroof.

Right—^

Glass roof is always black. Metal sunroof is body color. Same deal for all model year 991s.

Dealer-ordered will almost always have a sunroof. Mostly I see glass roof on used for-sale pages.

Mine’s sunroof delete. But, I ordered mine. SA tried, weakly, to get me to spec at least the metal sunroof for resale.

IMO, in years to come, sunroof delete will be what enthusiast buyers look for. Doesn’t matter to me, mine’s staying right here.

I believe a very nice 991.2 TTS with sunroof delete will be popping up on BAT very soon.

You can always get the cabrio and never drop the top, which will afford you a solid, sunlight-blocking fabric-colored roof 24/7! ?

I've seen very few metal-sunroof cars here in SoCal and maybe 1 sunroof-delete in the past 2 years.

There’s a nice Agate grey 2019 Turbo S with solid roof in Jericho NY. Jessica was the nice woman who was communicating with me about a possible purchase. It’s not used though. New stock.
