Last year, I caught one right at the intersection of the sidewall and tread ...
One new rear for me.
Yes, they do seem to attract a great many more pointy things than the 996 does with half an inch wider, and, stickier tyre....

I did a bit of coding on mine today. The dealer would not change default state of auto-s/s to off, I used my bi-dir obdc device to change default state to off, I could have set to “last mode”, but that setting would also covered the spoiler and PASM settings, so mine is standard normal mode at start excepting auto ss off. I also changed the HVAC settings to always go back to last used settings rather than be attached to my key, or any key.
There a few other odds and ends I am looking to do another day, programming-wise; windows up/down via key fob, and number of lane blinks on lane change (3 default, will move to 4 or 5)
Also did an oil/filter change and reset the oil service indicator/date/mileage, On an aside, this was first use of my quickjacks … I was surprised by the amount of compression in the QJ medium block under full load from the rubber puck I used on jack point, the heavy end obviously. It was more surprise than concern.
I have my rennline grills in, so I will be removing the front bumper soon, and taking care of a faulty outer PDC sensor at the same time.

What device are you using to code the car?
That's interesting.

Launch x431 crp919x, there are versions with more add-ons, like tpms wands, key fob programmer, etc, but the one I referenced does all the programming excepting the ones that require something additional to the obdc, like the two I mentioned.
it is not a Porsche specific device, but the Porsche section seems to do about 90% of what a piwis can do. Pdk calibrations, service internal (by service type) button assignment, etc, pretty cool device, going to hook it to the wife’s Infiniti and see what the Infiniti options are soon.
I also noticed in there, that you could change the spoiler deploy/retract speeds, and I saw a coding for sports response duration (20 secs).
This is the post that I read and got me looking at what could be done on the 991:

On the Launch x431, were the steps clearly labeled to be able to easily click your way to that specific parameter?
