Default 30k Service 991.1 Turbo

Hi All,

My 2014 991.1 Turbo is at 25k miles and I'm only doing 5k miles a year. I have been told I should get the 30k service by the dealer which will change the spark plugs and cost $2.5k USD. Should I just do an oil change (the light is on now) $500 USD for this service and wait till I get to 30k next year for the 30k service?

Thanks in advance - I'm a newbie.

$2.0k to replace spark plugs. Ouch.

That answers my (mental) question about how much effort is involved to do it by the book (which requires lowering the engine several inches.)

Meh... not looking forward to paying $2k for R&R of 6 $4 plugs. But also not looking forward to buying the engine adapter and adapting it to my transmission jack. Luckily, at <12k miles I can put this off for a while longer.

Wow. The engine has to be dropped? What a pain. I am sure they do other stuff. Is there a list somewhere easy to access? The Carfax on my car showed the previous owner did it at 20k miles which means I will have to do it at 50 miles. Correct?

if I were you I would just get the oil change and wait until next year.

No. Lowered. Slightly. Big, big difference. Work shop manual indicates prelim work is to remove the air filter assembly. No other disconnections are indicated except for two bolts that aren't completely removed. WSM doesn't say exactly how far, but it's gotta be only a few inches 'cause the rear axle cross member is in the way.

Be glad it's not a GT3. WSM doc has a ton of other stuff that has to be removed.

Sorry no. WSM docs are not on line. Process is the same for 991 Turbos, S or non-S.
