Frunk pops open while washing car...?
So I washed my car the old-fashion way today with a bucket and hose. The key was in my pocket and the frunk popped open twice when water splashed above the latch -- like the system interpreted the water to be my hand asking for a hands-free opening. I ended up putting the key inside the house while I washed it to stop the frunk from popping open. Does this happen to everyone or is my car special?

I always put the key in the house when I wash my car..which I do once or twice a year regardless of whether it needs it.

Do you have keyless entry/drive?
If so, then when the sensor detects mass by the frunk - by the crest - with the key in your pocket, the system is going to open it.
Keep the key somewhere else while washing and you shouldn't have a problem.

yes, I agree it seems hit or miss. I actually thought there might be some setting somewhere that I was too lazy to look up. You'd think Porsche would pick a sensor that can distinguish water from a hand. If the key is inside the cab, I it won't pop open even if a pigeon lands there or whatever?

Get a GT3 and it won't do that
Just kidding when I had my Turbo I just left the key in the car on the floor and it wouldn't do it.
