Default CarPlay and iPhone X

Hi guys, just got a 991.2 Turbo S but seems like I'm unable to make CarPlay work with the iPhone X...I connect it through the USB port under the central armrest with an apple lighting cable but when looking for connected devices it just tell me to connect my device to the USB. Tried several times, connecting and unconnecting the cable but nothing works...am I missing something? Help me pls!!!

Thanks,
Max

Have you selected the car in Apple Settings under CarPlay?

Sorry where would that be? Feel quite dumb as usually I'm quite good with this sort of stuff...but feeling like I'm missing something (probably obvious) here!

On your iPhone go into settings. You'll find carplay in there

Not sure what is going on with my phone, but there is no way to make it work....disabled all the restrictions, allowed CarPlay in the menu etc etc but the PCM always asking me to connect the phone via USB despite being already connected and be seen as iPod...I also leave the iPod function in the PCM by selecting another source but yet CarPlay won't start! Giving up I guess...

I don't select it to be seen as an iPod. Perhaps worth a try. Also try changing the USB cable

My understanding is that it's either iPod or CarPlay so I've been looking for the function to disable the iPod function but can't find it anywhere (iPhone or PCM)...is there a box to untick somewhere?

Tried already 2 USB cables (one original and one from belkin) but no luck!

Thanks for your help!!

I have a similar issue. My iPhone 6 works but my wife's iPhone 6+ does not. Both have same iOs version. Yet one works with Car Play and the other does not. Any idea why?
