If you do go aftermarket it is a good idea to also keep the original wheels for whenever you decide to move on from the car. Dealers may not CPO an otherwise eligible car without its original wheels.

Thanks for further comments and pics guys! These cares look great in both 20/21.

I think considering all factors and given that I'll be tuning the car (as soon as Cobb get their act together), I'll be going for forged 21s with lowering springs. No MPSS probably biggest drawback, but research shows that the Pirelli in 21 inch are good.

You'll have no regrets!

I went with 21" HRE P101's with Pirelli 255/30/ZR21 and 325/25/ZR21. I love the more aggressive/wider rear tires and the 21's look much better IMHO.

The biggest downside is the limit of tires to choose from. There were a lot of backorders for these specific Pirellis, so I ordered two sets JIC (and kept the stock wheels/tires as well).

I also lowered it with GMG springs (Fyi, I have the lift system and it works fine).

It rides incredible, I really expected a much harsher ride - but I'd be shocked if it's much worse than the 20's.

Machining magnesium isn't as easy or compliant as T6-6061 Aluminum is. The biggest concern with machining magnesium is the potential fire hazard so though it's been talked about internally we do not currently work with magnesium.

That makes sense. Mag can be noticeably lighter but brings a lot of trouble and therefore cost getting the issues figured out and worked around. And with a good set of forged aluminum wheels at ~$10k already I dont know if there would be a long line of customers.

The aircraft I work most on had a great deal of magnesium replaced with aluminum just due to the high costs of managing parts made from that material. The fire hazard issue was managed well, but it still corrodes away quite easily and requires frequent treatment and replacement.
