Another PTS story! Customer orders Golf Blue and gets....
GULF BLUE! Ooooops! I went buy the Porsche of Towson dealership today
and sitting on the showroom floor was this! I said, "WOW....Gulf Blue in the
flesh!" To which the service manager said, "Yeah ugly ain't it?.... Customer
ordered GOLF BLUE (which is closer to Sapphire Blue and very rare apparently)
Needless to say customer ordered it 2 years ago and it finally got here.
What's very strange is that everything was triple checked and paint samples
sent to Germany just to make sure nothing went wrong. And Murphy showed
up! Oh boy. So here it sits if anyone is interested. I don't know if there is a
waiting list on it, but I think the customer who ordered it may be waiting to see
what PAG will do for him. Can you say RS allocation?
If interested call Porsche of Towson, Peoples Republic of Maryland

I didn't think Golf Blue was ever approved for the 991? Would need to check the list again, but I recall it was disallowed sometime ago. I think it's a dealer or PCNA mistake.
EDIT: Just checked latest list and it is approved now, I don't have the old ones handy to check at time of order.

BTW, this topic reminded me of the guy who ordered a E92 M3 and also got the wrong colour delivered:
Atlantic/Atlantis blue.

You guys crack me up. I am coming over next week to do a PTS color
seminar for all of you. Make sure that Sales Manager & his staff from
Townson all show up. They are clueless. Plus, as a public service, I am
bringing one ophthalmologists along to do eye examinations for all to
see how far the macular degeneration has progressed and if it has
ruined your vision permanently. I am also bringing a photographer
to give Rubbaman lessons on how to improve his photographic skills.
They suck...and might make any color looked muddy through his lenses.
That is 'Gulf Blue'. There is no 'Golf Blue'. It's a historic vintage
911 color. It was probably until recently (Riviera now has that
distinction) the most requested and sought after PTS color at
Porsche. And it's desirability dates back to the heady days when
Gulf Oil sponsored Porsche and those livery colors became
associated with 'Victory'!

They'll have a mile long of people wanting that car if it's truly available
for sale. Trust me.
