Default Dealer not covering cracked brake pucks?

I know many mentioned here that ceramic pucks in brake calipers crack with track use and sometimes even without. I brought this up with a dealer, and they are refusing to cover it because supposedly the pucks cracked from track use. But if the car is covered for track use, track use cannot be a reason to deny warranty, can it? Were other successful in getting pucks/calipers warrantied? I know some were, but what's the general consensus?

I'm SO pissed at Porsche now. First GT3 breaks down in the beginning of a track weekend, then a brand new Turbo S almost killed me (locked up brakes suddenly on all 4 wheels) and left me stranded in Europe, and now they do not want to cover cracking pucks because of track use.

Is your car a 2014? AFAIK, this is the only MY GT3 that is explicitly covered under warranty at track (discretionary for other years). I'd find another dealer or speak with the Regional Manager.

Yes, 2014.

I think you should be able to find someone sympathetic. I can understand rotors and pads being wear items, but these pucks really should not need to be replaced all the time (and I guess there aren't even replacements available - do you still need new calipers to solve this?). They mentioned some minor upgrades to the caliper pistons for the 991.2 GT3. I hope this puck issue is something that has been improved.

Which pads are you using? I remember reading that some had better puck life when using RE10 pads.

The pucks started cracking on stock pads. I then switched to Ferodos and had one front caliper replaced due to minor damage. Pucks in the new caliper did not crack at all after 4-5K miles, but the old one keeps getting progressively worse.

The SA told me they will send a request to Porsche NA and will replace the caliper if Porsche agrees to reimburse that. Seemed to make sense when he explained it.
