Kinda funny if you think about it. Carrera S, Carrera GTS, Turbo S, GT3, GT3 RS, R .... The average person on the street would have a hard time telling difference between a pre-owned $85K Carrera S and a flipped $400K R. Even with guys here, you need to take a double look many times.
Maybe the paparazzi comes out with the R??
GT3 has wide body Carrera body, and GT3 RS has Turbo S body, and GT2 RS has upgraded Turbo S engine with GT3 RS body, etc .... and they all have many of the same parts.

My very first year with my 997 GT3 RS at an autocross. This A type butthole comes over and asks if he can sit in my car. Sure, toss the cig first. He gets in and gets out. Ha ha, we both have the same car but you paid a lot more for yours than I did. He had a 997C2S. He also had no clue. Type that gives us a bad name. Never saw him again.

after scrolling down thru the first 4-5 of these red or white only images, my expert eyes glazed over and " everything started to look pretty much the same " to me , lol , even though I , like many fellow Rennlisters , know minutiae-level detail about every current or coming 991 variant !
as a macro level example , the general public prob can't see the difference from a well restored '70 Targa and a '17 T-4S version rolling by in the opposite direction at speed
