POLL: If You Could Design The Perfect Porsche 911
RL'er Tangerine suggested a poll, so here's my expanded version of it...
If you could design and own (only ONE of) the perfect new 4.0L NA GT3-ish Porsche 911 that you would buy and use however you like, what would it be?
To eliminate variables of cost and investment speculation, let's assume that all would be priced the same and produced in volume to meet demand to prevent limited allocations or markups; none would be a special numbered edition; none would have exotic materials (no CF of magnesium body panels) and availability of PTS or other custom options are the same for all.
Keep in mind, any options with backseats would only be offered with 4-way or 18-way sofas, since the LWBs make rear seat access impossible. Assume all no-backseat options can be had with your choice of sofas or LWBs.
The idea is to focus on what YOU WOULD WANT TO HAVE AND DRIVE based on the merits of the concept itself.

Personally, I'd pick the Sport Classic manual. Love the idea of a car as capable as and that drives the same a 991.2 GT3, but with a more understated, yet still unique (thanks to ducktail), outward appearance and with the convenience of rear seats.
Would also hope to get it with pepita/houndstooth seats, PTS, and few other unique styling choices including PTS and tone-on-tone side stripes.

I voted for the 911R manual back seat however what i really like to see ( it think this was the plan when the 911 "R" was first rumored a N/A, narrow body, Lighter Weight , rear wheel drive, manual + backseat. Better gearing than the STD 911 as well.

I care most about the engine. I would take any of the choices above with the new 4.0L. But I like the idea of back seats for my kids and I prefer the look of the ducktail over big aero. So I voted for the manual Sport Classic.

No wing, no aero, narrow body, LWBs, no rear seat, two wheel drive, 6MT .... can I also get the GT2RS engine and PTS and LTS or CXX on the LWBs? Oh, and delete everything else from the interior and give me none of the alphabet soup, just coilovers and a mechanical LSD.

Thanks for sorting all the options into a poll. I was a bit afraid I'd screw it up and miss something obvious.
Really curious what this will look like after 100 or so votes. The audience here isn't representative of the actual market and in theory should skew more hardcore, but this is the best way to find out. Cross-posting this in the normal 991 forum would be interesting...

My real perfect Porsche would be starting with 991RS, with nomex seats and minus luxury bits, carbon fibre fenders and bonnet recplaced by much cheaper and still light materials, slightly stiffer springs and more rose joints,.... I think that's it.. oh, and slightly higher red line and bit more torque/power..

I'm the 100% target audience, I voted No wing, no back seat with MT (the 6MT not 7MT) but could go PDK (either/or).
I don't need a GT3 with the track suspension or wing the GTS is likely better for my wants as it's a street car. But I really don't care for the back seat (prefer none) and I'd prefer the 500 hp NA engine and 6MT or PDK. Likely lower weight and more engaging to drive the NA engine.
I keep pricing the GTS and the GT3 and don't think either one is exactly what I am looking for. This car (non-special 911R or GT3 without wing maybe less race car suspension) would be my ideal car. Also have the option for the active cruise control etc.. that is not on the GT3.
GTS = $120k
GT3 = $143K
NA 500 hp non-GT3 car I'd say $138K+ plus options and I'd seriously buy it.
