Aren't you the guy with a lot of funny
yellow cars from East Amherst, NY?
The guy in the photo is driving at a
track in the UK or some other spot
in Asia/Australia. So you are fibbing
us. But if you indeed like that super
cool look with the white socks, I think
you are channeling your inner 'Shmee'
& not 'Senna'!

Perhaps you could suggest a special PTS color for those socks. Signal green? I say no color, just black will do.

I keep looking at the 1st post. Mr. Henri Bendel's signature, though...

Eduardo wouldn't even be caught dead taking out the garbage with shoes and socks like that. He'll get you on the pants too.

Good for you! It's the driving that matters

Seriously?

You obviously never read 'The Official Preppy Handbook',
which next to Karl Luvigsen's 'Excellence was Expected',
is perhaps my favorite work! And oddly, the two may be
connected. Karl attended Phillips Exeter Academy!

There it is listed on the Handbook's cover...the essentials
or crucial elements for 'coolness'...Sperry Top-Siders. And
there too you will see mentioned the 'The Sock Controversy'!
It's on page 138...go read it! Socks & Top-Siders don't mix!
It's a major 'faux-pas'. That, for those unwashed deplorables
that don't speak French, means 'a tactless blunder'!

Let me tell you this story. Back in my college days, I knew
this guy that was brilliant, good looking & seemingly had
everything going for him! And then he was seen wearing
shorts & socks on campus!

That was it. His girlfriend dumped him. His fraternity expelled
him. His friends shunned him. He eventually dropped out &
turned to drugs on his road to perdition. I attended his funeral
two years later! So sad.

And while we are on the subject of 'fashionable wear', kf, drop
the 'fuzzy' fleece pants!

They are so....passé!

Ah yes, I had this book back in high school
madras paid, wide whale embroidered corduroy, bass weejuns or white bucks with red soles.....sadly I have forgone the preppy look for the out-of-work devil-may-care look.

I still have Allan Flusser's Clothes and the Man somewhere in the back of my closet---I should probably get it out?
