They don't ever make them slower. That you can count on.

What you decide to keep/buy is up to you. Personally, I'd rather have my old 7.1RS over a 991.1 GT3, simply because of manual. I passed on all 991 GT cars because PDK only. If you are a PDK guy, then only reason to get rid of RS is because you HAVE to have latest and greatest or fastest car from the stats. Both are 500hp NA masterpieces....there is no wrong choice.

If .2RS is offered with a manual, then I'll try to get one, if not, I live happily ever after with my GT3. Or I buy another 997 RS since values are coming back to reality.

Do what you want, not what all us ***-hats think you should do.

If you are STILL confused and want to respond with more of your conspicuous, self deprecating "woe is me a Camry is better than a .1RS", then I guess we will continue to have to explain over and over and OVER and OVER.

In conclusion, the .2GT3's engine is BETTER than the .1RS. Better. Better. Waxer, it's better. The engine is better. THE ENGINE IS BETTER.

Is the carbon hood better? Not sure.
Is it better than the AMG GTR? Not sure.
Are puppies better than kitties? Not sure.
Are we making any OTHER COMPARISON OTHER THAN THE ENGINE IN THE .2 GT3 AND THE ENGINE IN THE .1RS? NO.

So, what am I trying to say? The engine in your .1RS is not as good as the engine in the .2GT3 and the soon to be .2RS.

Keep the RS as long as your dealer allows for you to get the .2RS. I ordered the GT3.2 with the intention of buying a .2RS. I'm beyond excited for the GT3.2 but can't lie having an RS.2 in the garage would be pretty epic too!

LOL. Holy chit dude!!!!

Maybe you should ask CYKBC for one his Xanax's. After you take the meds sit down and calm down, go back to my post and now show me were I used the word "better" in my post except in reference to the test weather at the Ring.

I can't argue against the fact technical improvements were made to the .2 4.0 nor did I. Dave and Whoopsy's knowledge on these issues is not challenged. They are far more knowledgable than I. Dave is usually my go to guy for info. Whoopsy too.

My challenge and comments were directed at the euphamistic characterazation that the .1 4.0 has "no heart". Maybe you agree with that euphamism? You are certainly entitled to should you believe that. You would be misguided (as usual) in that beleif but you are free to be wrong and far be it for me to stop you from that world wide display.

Let me see if I can be clear. Maybe read out loud as you read. Helps with comprehension.

Lets try this. Admit or deny the following.

(1) The word "Better" in many ways is a relative term depending on criteria and context.
(2) .2 4.0 carries certain engineering improvements over .1 4.0
(3) .2 is "better" in the engineering context in that it has certain engineering improvements designed to improve performance all around and reliability for that performance increase all around.
(4) That the .2 is better than the .1 4.0 from that technical standpoint is no surprise.
(5) Porsche has/is continually making improvements in engineering and performance with each iteration and/or generation of engine.
(6) Those improvements in the new engine don't render the previous generations of engines "bad" or "unfit" for their intended purpose where there is no proof they were "bad" or "unfit" for their intended purpose to begin with.
(7) .1 4.0 engines have performed reliably as far as we know.
(8) We know of no valve train failures on .1 4.0 R or RS engines since launch.
(9) There are many owners who track their .1 RS's.
(10) .1 4.0 was utilized in the 2015 GT3R (Per Dave and PAG's own litature) which ran flawlessly.
(10a) 2015 GT3R is PAG Motorsport.
(11) .1 4.0 engine peformance is outstanding for its class.
(12) Chris Harris and Jethro Bovington are both very well respected auto journalists.
(13) Chris Harris and Jethro Bovington both love the .1RS
(14) .1 RS is a great car
(15) Neither the .1 4.0 or the .2 4.0 are the exact (lets not parse here as which was closer and why) engine that were used in their racing counter parts.
(16) Neither the .1RS or the .2 GT3 are race cars.
(17) Both the .1RS and the .2GT3 are street cars designed/engineered also for track use.
(18) A majority of owners of both cannot reach the limits of the track capabilities of either car.
(19) We can expect the .2RS to be "better" in engine and performance than the .2GT3.
(20) .1RS is better at being an "RS" than .2GT3.
(21) "RS" nominclature is utilized by Porsche to identify their top level 911 street GT cars.
(22) Generally most believe owning an RS is preferable to own or "better" to own than a GT3 of any generation when performance is not the top criteria.
(23) The .1RS prices are higher than the "better" .2GT3.

Your responses will prove whehter you are a straight shooter or full of it. Don't disappoint me. I have money on which way I think you'll go with this.
