Ride, eat, repeat and drive. I can see this Tour is going to gather more numbers and frequency in the future. International participation likely and you boys are the foundation members. Good stuff.

during TdM I drove:

1973 outlaw 2.4L carb
2011 997GT3RS4.0
2018 991.2GT3 manual

1973: BAD *** girl can dance, get in, hold on and stay WOT 75% of the time. rear moves around and over all very tossable. after each drive, u need to smoke a calming down cigarette. it's hard work

2011 RS4.0: same HP as 2018 but it feels that the hp comes at higher rpm. the engine seems to rev slower than 2018. MUCH harder to drive than 991 and you have to coax it to turn. fun but dare I say, my 1973 is more exciting.

2018 GT3: this is a fabulous CHEATER car. shifter is smooth unlike 997. gobs of hp and that RWS is very good at tight canyon turns. no lifting needed, it just turns... likely fastest of the three cars. it's great that I am not tired after flogging it. it's boring that I am not tired after flogging it..... (very easy to go very quick. so much so, I had a good conversation with our local finest uniform)

Mooty, thanks for the epic review and pictures. One thing that surprised me is you mentioned "HP seems to come at higher RPM for 997 4.0). I have never driven 4.0 but most owners comment that RS 4.0 is torquier / packs more punch at low-mid revs than new 991 GT3. Am I misunderstanding or do you feel differently?

Makes sense! Great to see that you're driving them hard, enjoying them and sharing it with us.

Fast times at mooty high. If only I weren’t 3000 miles away. Looks like fun!

^ we had nuts drove out from Maryland with his bike in a 991.2GT3 (it's funny I see so many debate on stitching, bucket seats, sofa, wing or no wing, pccb whatever), fbroen has , god forbids, SOFA in his GT3.... but he drove it all the way across country 2 round trips already....

ringzero drove down from Canada tundra over white stuff. I think he called those 'snow'. I am not familiar with that word, but he said it was tough but he made it.

Tal flew in from WI... I think they make cheese out there

WRU is crazy few from TX to SoCal and drove a 964 up to NorCal to ride with us ...

love it.

Sofas for loading dogs bikes wheels and other crap in back.

Manual slides so you don’t have to wait all day for them to buzz themselves fwd at shoot-me-now pace.

Less motors — Lightweight Sofas.
