Washed, clayed, and waxed a black car ....

Wanted to polish, but decided not too. Paint has to last until I die.

It may never leave the garage again.

Going to look at some old junk tomorrow to maybe drag home. Been sitting longer than I have been alive. But it’s aircooled and stored indoors so maybe better that being driven and rained on to rust.

Thanks mooty. It’s an 07 super V8, basically a vanden pals with the XJR supercharged engine, last year of the chrome trim, leaper cat etc. Supposedly they made 95 of them in 07. She has been very good to me over the last eight years. Knock on wood trim.

I set out to combine two of mooty’s three favorite things.

Next time I will strap it to a bike.

My neighbor and I decided to tear into this 2.2 when the mag case 915 trans was seized on. Once we get the heads and P&C off we can turn the crank to unbolt the flywheel.

This was our project after we looked at an original paint 66 912 for me, but it was too rusty for my tastes. Shame as it is a straight, original, apparently low miles car.

That is flying for the DK. I did a 107 mile gravel race out of Leavenworth, the Cool Hand Luke, a few years back and it had almost 10,000 feet in elevation change. The terrain there is heavily glaciated and I seemed to be going either up or down the entire way. I averaged 19.5mph, but was soundly beaten by the winner who finished in 5:12, and won the DK the next month. My 4 punctures didn't help matters; I ran out of tubes and was reliant on the generosity of slower riders! Lesson learned: 35s aren't enough tire, especially when set up tubed, on those steep 30mph+ gravel descents. The terrain was something in between Tour of Flanders and Liege-Bastogne-Liege.

The best thing about doing a gravel or cyclocross event in Kansas? Bottomless Boulevard beer at the finish! The cycling scene in KC is tight, and Boulevard is a big supporter.
