Yes, terrible what is going on with the fires. Our AQ wasn't too bad. I think it has turned worse since?
Yes, the demo program is great. I demoed the Blur. At 100mm/100mm suspension travel, the "Cross-Countriest" model they have. I liked it, but it seems to me that Santa Cruz's bread and butter is super capable gravity bikes, and the Blur may be a bit overbuilt as a true cross country machine. My better half demoed the Juliana Furtado -- maybe the women's line of the one you demoed? -- at 130mm/130mm travel. Did you like it?
We've had the privilege of riding China Camp on a prior trip and liked it a lot. You have great access to both on- and off-road riding -- of which we have only scratched the surface. We keep being drawn back -- one of these days we'll just stay . Especially after coming home to pick up the car just-off the boat, and it looking like this. Left it right there on the dealership roof parking.... ;-) Luckily, things thawed up nicely for the weekend and we went and picked it up to get reacquainted after our European adventure, and loaded up the co-pilot.
Marin/Bay Area is heaven for cyclists. I only started riding a few years ago but making up for lost time. Have been on a bike buying binge since last year. So much good riding just not enough time. If/when you come back, would love to show you all the good riding. The road stuff is epic. Same down in mooty's neck of the woods.
For MTB's I've tried a ton of bikes: Yeti SB100 (XC bike, 100mm travel; if you like XC you should demo this); SC Blur, SC Hightower (do all 140mm); SC 5010 (130mm 27.5; did not like 27.5), SC Tallboy (110mm); Trek Fuel EX (130mm). Down to the Tallboy or the Fuel. Tallboy is a bit stiffer and really good on climbs and very good. I owned a Fuel previously and it has a magic suspension. On trail it's like the Tallboy. On full open, it's like riding a magic carpet. You can go over anything and not feel it. Just trying to figure out which I like more. The fact that I can't ride is making the decision harder.
Whose GT2RS? OMG what I wouldn't give to drive one on track.

Having a wonderful day counseling grown children on value of maintaining up to date balance sheet and not enjoying Thill.
No food pics from Farwood?

Is that his first car?
I got a 87” manual supra waiting for my boys. They have started working on it already. ...but they need to get in to a decent College with scholarships, or else they ride their bikes to school.
