Way to go guys! That's a REALLY tough ride. I'm thinking that trying to keep up with you last weekend helped train me for today The Tarmac was freakin' fast and just begged to be pushed harder.
Tal: Yes, they do the event every year around the same time. This is my 2nd one in a row. My wife is on the local Team in Training group which rides for Leukemia / Lymphoma and raises money for the cause. She had an accident a couple of weeks ago and fractured her shoulder so she was just doing SAG and cheering today. Overall, the organization had 1000 riders at the event and raised $4.6M! Gotta respect that. It's truly a beautiful ride. The ride starts at 6200' so the altitude has an impact on some of the riders.

Woof. That ride was tough! I felt pretty decent until Mile #75, but the heat and this laughably steep climb at mile 90 called "Joaquin" got the best of me. I've been cranking through centuries w/ 6k of climbing lately and feeling great. Adding another 4k of elevation deserves more respect than I gave it!
Kudos to Mooty for hangin by my side. Just another walk in the park for that guy!
Also - great work Chris. Super fast riding!
