Eduardo has more experience than me and is the king of PTS as far as I know. Appreciate his expertise.

My responses are are based on what I was told in person and by phone and email subsequently by a Porsche Exclusive design consultant at PEC Atlanta when she met me for a one on one design consultation there in the for my .2 GT3.

As for Porsche disallowing other leather colors, she didn't say that. She said I could pick whatever leather color(s) I wanted when I pick the custom tailoring option for specific interior components. Now maybe she would recommend against outlandish choices, sure, but the beautiful "Zeder" (light tan) leather in that Jet Green Metallic RS, that should be on the menu.

About the the only things I was told Porsche WILL NOT do ("unless it's a 'special projects' car, the kind of thing Arab princes do for half a million dollars extra) are:

- brake calipers in other colors
- anything that involves wiring or mechanical changes to the car (removing sat radio roof wart, ventilated seats, Burmester audio, rear seats in a GT3, wing delete, rear backup camera delete or parking sensors add, etc)
- changing the gauges to duplicate look of 911R or 50th
- changing the wheels to other wheel styles or non-center-lock
- exterior graphics other than the few being tested for approval (Porsche has specifically excluded factory installed 911 R style roof stripes from being available for GT3)

Tricked out Boxster with many exclusive options that was on display at PEC Atlanta.

Nice example of deviating leather, piping and alcantara in the 18-way seats, among other things.

In the Cafe at PEC Atlanta. Love the houndstooth cloth wall.

Lapis, as soon as you have absolute
confirmation that what you heard
from Yana Nikolayeva (I pressume
that is your source) is 100% true

I was given the same message as Lapis and my request was approved. Told I won't know pricing until next month, but until the car is delivered it could all change as we've seen before.

I have it in an email from PCNA that my dealer forwarded to me - saying it was good to go and confirming colors on the center console, door etc. I didn't try the full dash, but might now.

Interesting development at PAG for
this .2 991 gt3. What color leather
interior & alcantara headliner (etc)
you believe are available to order?
And what color are you requesting?

I assume there are some arbitrary restrictions on leather colors though I don't know what those are. The only example Yana told me wasn't allowed (which I asked about) is the specific brown leather used on the seats in the 911 R. I assume that's about the same matter as why they won't do factory hood/roof stripes like the 911 R (or wing delete for that matter), as they don't want to bless a factory visual knock-off of a 911 R.

Wow. Very disappointed that CCX, can't just do the tachometer only in red or white, (as all red or white gauge option does exist for the .2 GT3)

Eduardo, can you weigh in on this? Is it typical of Porsche exclusive to deny a request as simple as doing just the tachometer in red or white for the GT3?
A tachometer only in red is a standard option for a GTS.

In the past PAG has limited options on the gt3
models that normally would be allowed in 'lesser'
models. But if what Lapis & Nate are reporting
is true, the times they are a-changin'!

i asked about gauges in different styles or colors in the context of trying to get my new GT3 with the retro green numbers look similar to what was done on 911 50th and 911 R, which I love. I was told they won't do that because it's not so simple... the gauge cluster is all one unit; the gauges are specific to the car (for example, the RPM redline and other details are different for GT3 vs 911R and 911 50th), so they can't just crib the parts from another model and they'd have to be custom designed and manufactured.

Obviously Porsche has designed and manufactured gauge cluster dials for GT3 in grey/black (standard), red and white (each optional), and apparently in no other colors or styles.

I guess a request to do guages that would be right for the new GT3 but in other colors than those offered, or other styles such as the green retro ones I wanted, would be a more significant job than we assume and one that puts the request beyond the normal "custom tailoring" options process. It would be in the realm of a "special projects" (price no object) custom car. Or you have to be part of the Porsche insider family I suppose.

Sorry, I don't have a music video to attach that sums up what I'm trying to say.

Eduardo what are your thoughts on the mythical Touring Package? Is this to be from Exclusive if it does indeed come to fruition?

Thanks Eduardo. The car turned out to be one of Melissa's last projects at Porsche Exclusive. The CXX piping and headrest embroidery in acid green was her idea. The .2 C2S is a great car, but a 4L GT3 engine w/o wing is a difficult itch not to scratch! Always enjoy your posts. David
