I looked at that car 6 months ago. They listed it for 175k at the time. If I recall correctly that car used to be owned by the dealership-owner's son. He replaced it with an RS or gt4. The car was tracked. I did do a test drive and it ran well. They're likely underwater on the car hence they don't want to go down too low. You can probably get a better deal from them towards the end of the month. Good luck!

How can a dealership be underwater on a car that was owned by the owner of the dealership?

Too funny. When I first saw that car months ago, the first thing that ran through my mind was that someone connected to the dealership bought it, beat the crap out of it, and was trying to find a sucker to cover the cost of their 6-9 months of ownership.

LOL. This is not very helpful since I'm trying to work out a deal right now for this car.

Sorry, that was just a thought that ran through my mind way back when, not a statement of fact. Nothing to support it other than urban2k's comment. And back then the ask was around $169k IIRC, which was a sucker's ask. A hook in the water looking for a fish to swim by.

Just make sure you get the history of the car and factor it into your offer. I don't think I'd ever buy a car like this without knowing the ownership history and, preferably, meeting the prior owner, though that's not usually possible in the case of a dealer sale.

Joking. Taking Woodside Rd all the way to the coast, then Highway 1 home to SF.
