I hope this does not turn in to my **** is bigger than yours'. They are both great cars but that does not mean because the RS is perceived to be on the top of the Porsche food chain that it means every one desires that model over the others. Make no bones about it - when I see an RS on the Street; I do not look away but stare and admire the car. There is some one with a 2016 PTS RS( I think Voodoo Blue) that I have seen a couple times driving in Glenview and the car certainly has a presence and it does sound purdy darn good. I am thinking that person is on this forum. Would love to know if that is the stock exhaust.

That is the rear bypass?? Can you post a picture. I would like to see how the tips look because I know they are unique but have yet to see them up close.

Did somebody take an RS model out of your crib when you were young?

I agree that it is very hard to NOT swap out the .1 GT3RS for the latest and greatest .2 MT PTS GT3. However, the .2 RS is on the horizon and it could be with MT. It would be easy to consider swapping out the .1RS for the .2 RS with MT if one has the waiting capacity. If not, one could just acquire the .2 PTS MT GT3 and keep the .1 RS or one could swap the .1 RS for the .2 PTS PDK GT3 and then go for the .2 MT PTS RS when it shows up. There are so may options. Just like being at the Starbucks coffee counter, mocha or latte, hot or cold....

It is like having a High end audio system. I own Tiel 5i speakers and Krell FPB600 stereo amp, Krell KPS 20i CD player and a Krell KRC-HR preamp processor along with a high end 4k 3d Projection system HT. This is fully automated and is amazing. I acquired this equipment in 1998-1999. Gave an arm and a leg for most of these products. Of course the Projector is modern along with the 12' diagonal screen (2013). There are many times that I want to change the equipment out and get new equipment. The Krell FPB600 amp had a capacitor that went out and it cost me $1800 total to ship it back to Krell in Connecticut and have it repaired and it plays just like new. They told me they could repair it or I could buy a more modern amp for $12K. The FPB600 was $12K in 1998. I had listening sessions with the modern equipment and there was absolutely NO difference in sound quality, transients and the amazing live performance like sound that my almost 20 year equipment reproduces. I think the story of the .1 RS and .2GT3 is just like that!

Hmmm, I'll buy it at -30 and sell it at +20, pay someone to do some paperwork and stick 40 grand in my pocket after sales tax.

Your right - "An RS is an RS". Hence I do not want one. If I did would be driving one. I know this sound nuts but I chose a GT4 over an RS. It is not always about having the latest and greatest for me.

I have been is search of the Perfect car for me that checks all my boxes. I think the GT4 came close but just needs that GT3 motor. The .2 GT3 may be that "Special" one that does it for me - at least for now
I am with Jimmy, Bronson, and others on this. The GT3 is perfect for me, and I don't desire an RS. If I was offered the choice of only a .2GT3 or only .2 RS at MSRP, I would take the .2 GT3.

Personally I like that the GT3 looks like a purposeful sports car that is ready for the track, but not "only" for the track like an RS, which looks the business on the track but looks way over the top driving the car anywhere else with side air scoops front and rear, and the insanely big wing.

An RS is an RS, but a GT3 is a GT3 and it's important to know that not all GT3 drivers secretly want an RS but couldn't swing it for some reason. Some of us prefer the GT3 over the RS.

That doesn't diminish the greatness of the RS and I"m glad the RS is around for all my friends who prefer an RS.

Chance they go over RS for a period of time; latest and greatest. Won't settle out there. The 1.1RS's cartoonish looks and magical letters will eventually put it WELL over 1.2gt3. But in near-term, they just may well invert. Happened with 997s.

If I had a more run-of-mill 1.1rs spec, I'd take the gamble of punting my RS, driving .2gt3 for a while and picking up another somewhat generic UV down the road. Instead, if I decide to get a .2gt3, I'll add (maybe even a manual for diversity and the additional experience).

Default rs x 2

I put 38k miles on my 2010 gt3. That car was the love of my life until this 2011 was offered by a local RL'er. The RS has things I personally love - the chatter, the steering / handling - hard to describe just feels different.

Also had a 2016 GT3 and put 7k miles on. Amazing car - but again the 16 RS just feels better to me, and excites me more.

To each is own - absolutely nothing wrong with either choice. Pretty safe to say all GT cars are amazing, and we're lucky to have options.
